Xbox Game Pass Confirms Yet Another Game for 2026

The suspenseful game Buckshot Roulette will be available on Xbox Game Pass starting in 2026. The publisher, Critical Reflex, previously promised the game would be on the service, but the launch was originally scheduled for sometime this year.

Buckshot Roulette is a darkly humorous game that blends the fast-paced action of roguelites with the tension of a tabletop experience. It’s a digital take on Russian Roulette, but instead of a revolver, players use a shotgun. Originally launched on Windows and Linux in late 2023 – marking its second anniversary on December 28th – Buckshot Roulette is also coming to Xbox Series X/S. A trailer announced this February that the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one, with a planned release sometime in late 2025.

Buckshot Roulette Is the 33rd Confirmed Xbox Game Pass Release for 2026

As a big fan of Buckshot Roulette, I was really excited to hear it was coming to Xbox Game Pass, but unfortunately, it’s been delayed. It was supposed to release soon, but now they’re aiming for 2026 – it’ll be the 33rd game added to the service next year. The developer, Mike Klubnika, who originally made the game all by himself in Estonia, explained that the team working on the console version hit some unexpected technical problems while trying to get it running smoothly on Xbox. It’s a bummer, but hopefully, they can work everything out and bring this intense game to consoles when it’s really ready!

Buckshot Roulette’s Xbox Game Pass Release Possibly Coming in H1 2026

So, I was reading up on Buckshot Roulette, and it sounds like switching to the Godot Engine caused some headaches when they were trying to get it running on consoles. The developer, Klubnika, said it was “quite a task,” but thankfully, they’ve worked through all those engine-related issues now. They were originally aiming for a late 2025 release, which usually means a game comes out closer to the end of the year. But since they’ve seemingly overcome the technical hurdles that caused the delay, there’s a good chance we might actually see it in the first half of 2026! I’m really hoping for an earlier release now that those problems are fixed.

All Xbox Game Pass Games Confirmed for 2026

Many games first released on PC through Xbox Game Pass aren’t added to the console version of the service until they’re available on both platforms. This has been happening frequently in 2025 – for example, One Lonely Outpost and Mullet Madjack were added in March, followed by Crime Scene Cleaner in April and Volcano Princess in June. Buckshot Roulette will follow this same pattern, meaning it won’t be available on the console Game Pass until it launches on both PC and console.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to Mio: Memories in Orbit and Nova Roma arriving in 2026. While these games are slated for release in late January, several other titles will likely be added to the service before them. We expect to hear the first details about the January 2026 Game Pass lineup around January 6th, based on past announcement patterns.
