One game on this list seems a little questionable, but overall, these are the most anticipated PS5 games scheduled for release in 2026. We expect to learn about even more PlayStation exclusives throughout the year from events like Summer Game Fest and Sony’s State of Play presentations, so keep checking back for updates.
Saros
Any day Hosuemarque announces a new game is a great day. They consistently deliver high-quality titles, and are known for PlayStation hits like Super Stardust, Resogun, and the fantastic Returnal from 2021. Whether it’s Dead Nation, Alienation, or Nex Machina, this developer always creates refined and polished gaming experiences.
Okay, so I’ve been playing Saros, and honestly, it feels like Returnal, but way better in every way. The gameplay is intense – tons of bright, fast-moving projectiles flying at you from enemies, a real bullet-hell experience. But it’s not just the action; the graphics and sound are incredible. Seriously, the attention to detail is amazing. I’m calling it now: if it keeps this up, Saros is going to be a huge hit and a strong contender for Game of the Year in 2026.
Marvel’s Wolverine
Okay, so if you were hoping for a watered-down, kid-friendly Wolverine in this game, you’re in for a surprise! Insomniac isn’t holding back at all. They really leaned into Logan’s wild, animalistic side. For a while after they first showed him off, they kept things pretty mysterious, but now we’ve gotten a good look, and let me tell you, this Wolverine is brutal – those claws are seriously dangerous!
The satisfying action combat fans know from the Spider-Man games is present in this new title, but geared towards a much more brutal and unsettling fighting style, fitting for the character. Currently slated for release in 2026, it’s expected to be Sony’s biggest exclusive game of that year.
Nioh 3
Team Ninja, the creators of Nioh, have been busy exploring new game ideas with titles like Wo Long Fallen Dynasty and Rise of the Ronin. They’re also bringing back the popular Ninja Gaiden series with a new installment planned for 2025. But now, they’re returning to their roots with Nioh 3, offering players another challenging samurai experience.
FromSoftware’s Souls games are well-known and highly praised, and Team Ninja’s Nioh games deserve similar recognition for their incredible depth. Nioh 3 is a bit different, though – it’s available on PC and PlayStation 5, but not Xbox or Nintendo consoles, so it stands apart from the others.

It’s possible this is the last Grand Theft Auto game we’ll see for a while. Rockstar takes a long time to develop new titles, and with plans for a Red Dead Redemption 3 or a completely new game on the horizon, it’s hard to say when – or even if – we’ll get a GTA 7.
This is the game of 2026…unless it’s delayed AGAIN.
Resident Evil Requiem
Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth major installment in the long-running Resident Evil series. The game takes place in the ruined city of Raccoon City, after it was destroyed by a missile strike at the end of Resident Evil 3. Players will experience the story through the eyes of Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, though some believe Leon Kennedy may also be a playable character.
Expect to be relentlessly pursued by a powerful, Tyrant-like creature, with a strong focus on escaping and staying alive. This will especially appeal to longtime fans of classic Resident Evil games. You can always count on a new Resident Evil title delivering a thrilling experience, and early gameplay footage of ‘Requiem’ suggests a genuine biohazard outbreak is in store.
007 First Light
It’s unusual to see a game from Hitman developer IO Interactive that isn’t a Hitman title. They’ve taken on the challenge of creating a new James Bond game, and they have the full rights to do so. This game will explore Bond’s early days as a 00 agent, showing him as a rookie – less refined and with less experience than the iconic spy we all know.
Early looks at the game show that 007 First Light will feel similar to Hitman, but with its own unique style and some clever features taken from that game.
Halo: Campaign Evolved
The release of Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5 felt like a major turning point for the gaming world. Following that surprise, with Gears of War: Reloaded also appearing on the platform, the announcement of Halo coming to PlayStation 5 feels definitive – the long-standing console wars are, for all intents and purposes, over.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is now available on PlayStation consoles for the first time in the nearly 25-year history of the Halo franchise. While it’s just the single-player campaign, it’s a great opportunity for long-time PlayStation fans – like me – to experience the story from the beginning. PlayStation 5 owners can finally understand what all the hype was about and see why Halo was such a dominant force in the first-person shooter genre for so many years.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake
For years, TopMob has been following reports about a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, a game many fans consider to be a standout title, even among beloved classics like Assassin’s Creed 2. Ubisoft has been very secretive about the project, even going so far as to threaten legal action against an actor who accidentally hinted at its existence.
We’ve learned that the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake is likely to be released before the end of March. When it does launch, it’s expected to be a major game in 2025 and a must-have for PlayStation 5 owners.
