Boruto: Boruto’s Most OP Moments, Ranked

This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.

The Boruto series is doing a great job of developing Boruto Uzumaki’s personality. At first, he seemed spoiled and unlikeable, but he’s grown a lot. Now, instead of avoiding challenges and only thinking of himself, Boruto is willingly taking on the responsibility of protecting the ninja world, especially with Naruto and Sasuke often away.

Throughout the early part of Boruto, the main character, Boruto, repeatedly demonstrated impressive power and skill. These moments were crucial for showing his development and making his journey resonate with viewers. Let’s revisit some of those key instances that shaped Boruto into who he is now. It’s also a good time to remember how far the Boruto series itself has come.

Taking Out Sasuke’s Rinnegan

Boruto deeply regrets harming his mentor, Sasuke Uchiha. He lost control of his body, allowing Momoshiki Otsutsuki to take over and attack Sasuke. This resulted in Sasuke losing his Rinnegan, leaving him deeply traumatized and Boruto filled with guilt.

Despite being controlled by Momoshiki, Boruto uniquely managed to achieve something remarkable. While it’s upsetting to see Sasuke lose his Rinnegan, Borushiki defeated him surprisingly easily. Sadly, it’s currently unclear if Sasuke will ever get his Rinnegan back in the manga.

Saving Sarada From Hidari

Hidari is a clone of Sasuke Uchiha created using Shinju power. He came to Konoha with Jura with the goal of absorbing Sarada, driven by his instincts. Because Hidari is a clone of Sasuke, he can use similar abilities and shares Sasuke’s appearance. During his attack on the village, Hidari almost succeeded in absorbing Sarada, but Boruto intervened. Boruto and Sarada teamed up to fight Hidari, and a key moment was when Boruto landed a Rasengan Uzuhiko directly on him. While Boruto’s Rasengan wasn’t fully perfected, it was still strong enough to significantly slow Hidari down.

Using Byakugan Against Mamushi’s Clones

Mamushi is a clone created using Shinju power, and he’s causing trouble in Konoha by creating multiple copies of himself. These clones are searching for Eida, but Boruto, who is training to be Konoha’s next protector, intervenes to stop Mamushi from finding her and harming anyone.

Boruto now has Momoshiki’s permission to use his full power safely, meaning he can freely access abilities like the Byakugan. During his fight with Mamushi, Boruto uses Momoshiki’s Byakugan for the first time, allowing him to quickly defeat Mamushi’s clone army.

Using Karma Against Kashin Koji

Boruto and Kashin Koji have a complicated relationship. It began badly, as Koji intentionally antagonized Boruto by targeting his friends. In their first meeting, Koji nearly killed Konohamaru and left Sarada and Mitsuki unable to move. He clearly didn’t care about making a good impression on Boruto.

Seeing his friends injured sparked something in Boruto, causing him to unlock the power of his karma for the very first time. Filled with rage, he unleashed it on Koji, not only blocking Koji’s attacks but powerfully returning them. This unexpected display of strength overwhelmed Koji, forcing him to fall back.

Overpowering Code With Rasengan Uzuhiko

While several versions of the Rasengan appear in Boruto and Naruto, Uzuhiko is uniquely dangerous. Being struck by it causes effects so severe they can be fatal. Unless Boruto cancels the jutsu’s effects, the target has no hope of recovering or winning.

After Boruto hit Code with the Uzuhiko Rasengan, Code experienced a severe reaction. It was the first time Boruto had used Uzuhiko, and it completely disoriented Code, warping his perception of reality. He was so thrown off balance that he couldn’t defend himself, leaving him vulnerable and trapped.

Defeating Momoshiki Otsutsuki

Momoshiki Otsutsuki arrived on Earth intending to consume the planet’s chakra fruit to become more powerful. He didn’t anticipate being defeated by Boruto, a twelve-year-old who hadn’t yet reached the rank of chunin or jonin. At the time, Boruto was a new genin, still struggling to establish his own identity while being known primarily as the son of Naruto Uzumaki.

In a surprising turn of events, Boruto defeated Momoshiki with a massive rasengan, ending the battle. While he received crucial support from Naruto, Sasuke, and the other Kage, Boruto delivering the final, winning attack highlighted his incredible and frightening power.

Fighting With Jura in Land of the Wind

Currently, Jura—who is essentially a young version of the Ten-Tails—is considered the most powerful character in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. He and Boruto are enemies, and Boruto is determined to fight him, even after Kashin Koji’s strong warnings. Jura continues to cause chaos, but Boruto’s courage shows he’s finally faced with a truly formidable opponent.

During Team 7’s mission to the Land of the Wind, Boruto fought a tough battle against Jura. Even though he was the underdog, Boruto bravely attacked with his sword and a powerful Rasengan. He didn’t defeat Jura, but the fight clearly showed Jura that his time was limited.
