As a seasoned survivor of countless zombie apocalypses, I have learned to appreciate the finer points of weapon customization and perks. Among the myriad options available, some truly shine like beacons in the dark, while others are more like stumbling blocks on a moonlit night.
In the world of Call of Duty Zombies, Perk-a-Colas play a vital role due to their distinctive abilities that significantly enhance the gaming experience across various exhilarating maps. Among the numerous perks in Call of Duty Zombies, some stand out for their utility and are worth acquiring whenever they appear in any of the COD Zombies games. Although each perk has a specific quirk, only a few recur and are truly valuable every time they become accessible across all COD Zombies titles.
In the game of Call of Duty Zombies, players have the opportunity to create excellent and versatile builds by choosing four perks from the available selection. However, understanding each perk’s function and comparing their effectiveness can be crucial for success. Failure to pick any perks often leads to a certain death, while some perks are so essential that they become indispensable.
This list only contains the perks from Treyarch’s Call of Duty Zombies.
28 Death Perception
See Zombies Through Walls
- Costs: 2,000 Points
The experience of seeing zombies and items like wall-buys behind walls isn’t very satisfying for players, as skilled ones often create hordes of zombies which they don’t have to worry about turning around for since they already know they’re being pursued. This takes away the element of surprise in the game.
27 Deadshot Daiquiri
Increase Hip-Fire Accuracy By 35%, Reduce Recoil, Aim Assist Targets the Head
- Costs: 1,500 Points
Originally, Deadshot Daiquiri seemed underwhelming since it exclusively enhanced console players’ aim assist, directing it towards opponents’ heads rather than their bodies. However, in the game Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, this perk can be improved to inflict additional damage on headshots, though it’s not a must-have feature.
26 Deadshot Dealer
Headshot Aim Assist, Reduced Hip-Fire Spread, Lower Recoil
- Costs: 2,000 Points
In the game “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4,” a new perk called Deadshot Dealer functions similar to an enhanced version of the Deadshot Daiquiri. It offers headshot aim assistance, reduces hip-fire spread, and minimizes recoil. While it’s a decent choice, there are superior options available. Players might as well take aim themselves since, after all, zombies can’t shoot back.
25 Zombshell
Kill Zombies to Emit a Containment Field That Slows Zombies and Increases Damage Dealt
- Costs: 4,000 Points
Using the “Zombshell” ability, you have a chance to create a containment zone that temporarily slows down and makes zombies within it more susceptible to damage. However, this perk has a lengthy recharge time, making it an average choice in terms of overall effectiveness.
24 Blood Wolf Bite
Summon a Wolf to Help Deal Damage to Zombies
- Costs: 3,000 Points
If you’re looking for a companion and a charming yet fierce pet, consider Blood Wolf Bite! This feature lets you summon Luna, a Dire Wolf, who’ll attack zombies for 45 seconds before vanishing for 5 minutes. However, it may not be incredibly powerful, and its damage isn’t game-changing in later rounds.
23 Blaze Phase
Crouch to Build a Charge That Sends Players Zooming Forward, Knocking Down Zombies
- Costs: 2,000 Points
Blaze Phase offers a thrilling experience as players can squat, accumulate power, then leap back up to discharge this energy quickly in a swift dash that sets opponents ablaze. It’s exciting and speedy, but may not be the most effective in extended rounds, since staying low is a risky strategy.
22 Stone Cold Stronghold
Standing Still Grants a Circle With Increased Damage Over Time
- Costs: 2,500 Points
Stone Cold Stronghold is designed for determined players who dislike training zombies and prefer a more traditional approach like the catwalk days of Der Riese. This map offers a reinforcing circle that deals progressively more damage to zombies, rewarding those who remain steadfast and immovable, taking on extra damage.
21 Timeslip
Increase Equipment Cooldown Rate, Reduce Trap and Fast Travel Cooldown, Mystery Box & Pack-a-Punch Appears Faster
- Costs: 1,500 Points
For those who dislike waiting, Timeslip offers an appealing solution. It expedites the acquisition of weapons from the Mystery Box, Pack-a-Punch, travel time from fast stations, and trap activation. However, some might find it a bit overly convenient or flashy.
20 Electric Burst
Emits an Electric Discharge From Reloading Which is Stronger Based on How Empty the Magazine is
- Costs: 3,000 Points
Similar to Electric Cherry, Electric Burst generates an electric ripple when players reload their weapons. Notably, the strength of this shockwave depends on the amount of ammo a player has prior to reloading, making it a useful bonus. However, using an empty magazine solely to inflict damage can be quite daring, as it leaves you vulnerable.
19 Vulture Aid
See Items Through Walls, Obtain Ammo and Points From Zombies
- Costs: 3,000 Points
A standout feature of the Buried map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was Vulture Aid, which boasted some distinctive qualities that made it quite beneficial. Notably, players could peer through walls to spot items and weapons, but what truly set it apart was its ability to allow killed zombies to drop points, ammunition, and even a green scent that, when stood in, would render the zombies oblivious to the players’ presence.
18 Elemental Pop
Small Chance For a Random Ammo Mod Per Bullet
- Costs: 2,500 – 7,000 Points
In the game Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies, players have the option to upgrade their weapons with a Pack-a-Punch feature, which gives their bullets an elemental modification at random. This could result in various effects on zombies such as creating an ally zombie that attacks other zombies, shocking them with electricity, or causing explosions like fireworks. However, this feature reappears in the form of a Perk called Elemental Pop, but it’s not indispensable until very late rounds because it can be unpredictable when using a weapon.
17 Bandolier Bandit
Increased Ammo Reserves
- Costs: 3,000 Points
With the Bandolier Bandit feature, gamers can store additional ammunition in their reserve. This bonus is beneficial for those who prefer not to open the Mystery Box again or buy ammo at a wall-buy station. However, it’s important to note that even with this perk, players will eventually run out of ammo, as obtaining a Max Ammo isn’t guaranteed. Therefore, using Bandolier Bandit comes with a slight risk.
16 Ethereal Razor
Melee Swipe Multiple Enemies, Melee Lunge Provides More Damage and Restores Health
- Costs: 4,000 Points
The Ethereal Razor is ideal for ardent melee enthusiasts, catering to those who prefer a personal, close-quarters combat with their undead adversaries, delivering brutal strikes. It’s the kind of weapon that would earn Ultimis Richtofen’s approval, and its ability to slash multiple zombies at once, along with granting health restoration upon a melee charge, makes it an enticing, albeit risky, choice – one that offers both thrill and reward.
15 Tombstone Soda
Bleed Out and Respawn Next Round With Your Equipment Available as a Power-Up
- Costs: 2,000 Points
In the game Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the map Green Run’s TranZit offers an exclusive benefit – Tombstone Soda. With this soda, when players are downed, they can choose to bleed out instead, leaving behind a Power-Up containing their equipment. This Power-Up is unique and can only be picked up by the player at the start of the next round. However, it won’t last forever, so players need to act quickly!
14 Who’s Who
Enter a Revive State and Control a Doppelganger to Revive Yourself or Begin Anew
- Costs: 2,000 Points
In the Die Rise map of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, there’s a unique advantage – the ability for players to die and respawn as a duplicate of themselves. Upon death, they reappear with all their accumulated points but without any additional perks or weapons apart from the starting pistol. Players can choose either to revive themselves to keep their equipment intact or let themselves die again to start afresh.
13 Electric Cherry
Create an Electric Shockwave When Reloading to Damage Zombies
- Costs: 2,000 Points
During reloading, players can create an electric shockwave that harms and immobilizes zombies. This is beneficial in tight spots since players can reload to stun the zombies, giving them the opportunity to eliminate them and make a swift exit once they’ve reloaded. However, it’s important to note that this ability is best utilized in specific situations.
12 Speed Cola
Halves Weapon Reload Time & Build Barriers 60% Faster
- Costs: 3,000 Points
Speed Cola, an old-school favorite, expedites barrier construction and reduces weapon reload times by half. It’s a handy benefit, but it might not be as essential nowadays because players can simply delay reloading their weapons for a few additional seconds while battling zombies without using a perk slot, even if the tune is quite appealing.
11 Mule Kick
Carry Three Weapons Instead of Two
- Costs: 4,000 Points
At times, it can be advantageous to carry three firearms rather than two, and that’s where the Mule Kick comes into play. To be clear, Mule Kick is primarily designed for players who prefer a larger arsenal, but keep in mind that upon death, the third weapon will be lost. However, Mule Kick is ideal for those aiming to acquire both powerful Wonder Weapons and an additional firearm for self-defense.
10 Winter’s Wail
Generate Frost Explosions When Hit to Slow and Freeze Zombies
- Costs: 3,000 Points
Similar to Widow’s Wine, the ability called Winter’s Wail becomes active when players are attacked by zombies. Winter’s Wail has two uses and it slows down zombies after they attack, followed by a frosty burst that can even freeze them momentarily, providing an opportunity for players to swiftly escape.
9 Widow’s Wine
Detonates a Spiderweb Grenade When Hit to Slow Zombies, Increases Melee Damage
- Costs: 4,000 Points
Widow’s Wine serves as an additional protective measure, particularly beneficial for players who don’t employ grenades. Instead of grenades, it equips spiderwebs. Upon impact or launch, these spiderwebs explode, immobilizing zombies. This gives players a chance to recharge their health without worrying about being overrun by a horde of the undead.
