Strongest Non-Human Characters One Piece

One Piece is celebrated for its incredible range of characters, making it a standout series globally. Eiichiro Oda’s creativity has produced some of the most compelling characters in storytelling, and what’s truly special is that they aren’t all human. The world of One Piece is remarkably diverse, filled with fascinating characters from all walks of life – and beyond.

Beyond just giving them distinct personalities, Oda has also made these characters incredibly powerful, able to rival even the strongest humans. So, here’s a look at the most powerful non-human characters in One Piece.

This post contains spoilers for One Piece.

Yamato

Race: Oni

  • Can use all three types of Haki

Yamato is the daughter of Kaido, but she greatly admires Kozuki Oden. While she shares her father’s oni heritage – meaning she’s not human – that’s where their similarities end. Yamato is a caring and empathetic person who despises those who abuse their power. Because of this, she allied with Luffy to try and stop Kaido from wreaking havoc on Wano.

Yamato has a powerful Devil Fruit called Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Okami, which gives her mythical abilities. She’s also mastered all three types of Haki. Combining these strengths, Yamato is one of the most formidable characters in One Piece who isn’t a human.

Ragnir

Race: Weapon

  • Protected the legendary Devil Fruit for years

Ragnir is a recently introduced character in the Elbaf storyline. It’s a unique weapon that ate a Devil Fruit, granting it the ability to transform into a squirrel. For centuries, Ragnir has guarded Elbaf’s most prized Devil Fruit, refusing to let anyone have it unless it judged them worthy.

Given the history of strong fighters from Elbaf, someone there should have been able to defeat Ragnir. The fact that the weapon successfully held Ragnir back proves it’s incredibly potent.

Loki

Race: Giant

  • Has a legendary weapon and can use Haki

Loki is the son of Harald and next in line to be king, but the people of Elbaf distrust him, believing he killed his father. This has led them to reject the young prince. However, Loki doesn’t care about his royal status or what anyone thinks of him.

Loki’s aggressive and daring nature extends to how he fights – he’s fearless and throws everything he has into battle. With both the power of Ragnir and a rare Devil Fruit from Elbaf, Loki has firmly established himself as a major force and one of the most powerful non-human characters in the world of One Piece.

Kaido

Race: Oni

  • Was known as the strongest creature in the world

Kaido led the Beasts Pirates and was one of the Four Emperors, the most powerful pirates on the sea. Before forming his own crew, he was part of the Rocks Pirates, but left after a major battle known as the God Valley Incident. After that, Kaido quickly rose to power by relying on his incredible strength.

Kaido became incredibly powerful by combining his immense physical strength with the abilities granted by the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu – a rare and potent Devil Fruit. He further enhanced these powers with his mastery of Haki, making him almost unbeatable in battle.

Harald

Race: Giant

  • Was equal to Xebec in terms of strength

Harald is considered Elbaf’s best king because he worked hard to make the country more open to the outside world. He tried to repair the relationship between giants and humans, hoping to overcome past mistakes. While his efforts didn’t fully succeed, they weren’t a total loss either.

Harald wasn’t just a great leader; he was an incredibly skilled fighter. He was among the very few in the world of One Piece who could go toe-to-toe with the formidable Davy D. Xebec. Being a giant, Harald possessed immense physical strength, far beyond that of humans and most other races. He also had potent Haki, which made him even stronger.

Zunesha

Race: Unknown

  • Massive size with which it can destroy many vessels

Zunesha is a massive elephant who has lived for hundreds of years. She knew Joyboy and probably helped him during his adventures as a famous pirate. After being betrayed, Zunesha was cursed to wander the world without rest.

Zunesha doesn’t possess any Devil Fruit powers or Haki, but its immense size makes up for it. Even a single swing of its trunk could easily destroy an entire fleet of ships.

Shirahoshi

Race: Fish-Men

  • Can control Sea Kings

Shirahoshi is the latest person to be reborn with the powers of Poseidon, giving her control over huge Sea Kings. She was born with this ability, but she didn’t learn how to use it until after meeting the Straw Hat Pirates on Fish-Man Island. Shirahoshi doesn’t want to harm anyone, but she definitely has the power to defend those she cares about.

We haven’t seen the full scope of Shirahoshi’s power yet, but as one of the Ancient Weapons, it’s likely to be revealed soon. Fans are hoping Oda will share more about her abilities in future story arcs.

Imu

Race: Demon (Likely)

  • Is immortal and can utilize magic

Imu currently leads the World Government, giving them complete control over the entire organization. Having lived for centuries, Imu possesses vast knowledge about important and often secret subjects, such as the history of the Void Century and the legendary figure of Joyboy.

Because we haven’t seen Imu’s full appearance, fans are questioning what they actually look like, even their race. While Imu could be human, it’s not certain. Their abilities – like using magic, possessing others, and giving people new powers – make some believe Imu might be a demon instead.
