My Hero Academia, created by Kohei Horikoshi, features incredibly powerful anime characters. Heroes like Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo stand out thanks to their unique abilities, making them formidable forces in the world of heroes.
Now that Season 8 of My Hero Academia is finished, fans have been debating who the strongest characters are. With Shigaraki and All For One out of the picture, both new and returning characters have shown incredible power, leading to a revised ranking. Here’s a look at who’s made the list.
Katsuki Bakugo
Katsuki Bakugo immediately demonstrated incredible power. He consistently improved with each fight, channeling his intense anger into motivation to become the top hero, surpassing both Deku and All Might.
Bakugo is now fully mastering his explosive ability. His incredible performance in the final battle against the villains—where he effectively defeated All For One, even after being critically injured—left a lasting impression on everyone.
It’s unfortunate that Bakugo’s tendency to act out and be abrasive will likely keep him from rising higher in the hero rankings. However, his bravery, determination, and impressive power continue to motivate others, proving he’s still a true hero.
Izuku Midoriya
Even after losing his One For All ability, Izuku Midoriya continued to be a vital part of the hero world. He became a teacher at U.A. High, helping his students by sharing the valuable lessons he learned both through training and real-life battles. Despite no longer having the power that once made him a world-renowned hero, he remains highly respected in the field.
It was amazing how quickly All Might and the rest of Class 1-A got Deku back in the fight! That’s what ultimately got him recognized in the hero rankings. And the suit they gave him? Seriously powerful – way stronger than All Might’s ever was. It let him use versions of One For All that were artificially created, and it was incredible to see how naturally he handled them. It was like One For All never even left him – he still had all the skill and know-how!
Shoto Todoroki
Shoto Todoroki’s powerful quirk, which creates both ice and fire, makes him a standout character. He’s proven incredibly effective in battle, dealing significant damage to opponents like Dabi, as well as numerous other heroes and villains throughout the series. Todoroki skillfully combines the ice inherited from his mother with his father’s fire, allowing him to defeat even the strongest enemies.
I’ve been watching Todoroki climb the hero rankings lately, and it’s impressive. He’s become incredibly popular, even though he’s a bit reserved when interacting with the public. He’s definitely a major force in the hero world, and everyone respects his skills, power, and dedication to helping others.
Mirio Togata
Before Deku was chosen as All Might’s successor, Lemillion was the most likely candidate to receive One For All. His ability to phase through anything makes him incredibly powerful and difficult to defeat. Beyond that, he possessed all the qualities of a great hero – a strong will and a selfless nature – everything needed to become a symbol of peace.
Now that All Might has retired, Lemillion is the top hero. People adore him, despite his sometimes goofy and awkward moments. He’s determined to save a million lives, and nothing will get in his way.
Fumikage Tokoyami
Fumikage Tokoyami, much like Bakugo, was a consistently strong hero throughout the series. He demonstrated great skill and quickly mastered his abilities, even when facing challenges. Despite his potential, he isn’t ranked as highly as some might expect, mainly because he prefers to operate during nighttime hours.
During the Final War, Tokoyami proved to be incredibly powerful, even catching the attention of All For One, who attempted to steal his Dark Shadow quirk. All For One coveted the quirk’s immense destructive potential, but Tokoyami managed to hold on until the war ended.
Mirko
Mirko appears to be part machine because of all her prosthetic limbs. Despite her injuries, she’s incredibly powerful and continues to fight tirelessly to protect everyone – it’s truly amazing.
Mirko’s unique ability, the Rabbit quirk, grants her incredible powers like super strength, speed, and stamina, along with impressive agility. This makes her a powerful and adaptable hero. Driven by her strong desire to protect others, she’s determined to keep fighting.
Ochako Uraraka
Ochako Uraraka’s development as a hero in My Hero Academia is really impressive. She’s grown from a kind, supportive character into a powerful fighter, and her Zero Gravity quirk played a key role in the heroes’ final battle in Season 7. She single-handedly stopped Himiko Toga’s dangerous attack and bravely protected both heroes and civilians while under intense pressure.
Uraraka has grown into a remarkable hero, consistently going above and beyond – not only battling villains, but also working to enhance quirk education throughout the country. She’s truly become the hero she always aspired to be, and she and Deku are a perfect match!
Tamaki Amajiki
Tamaki Amajiki is an incredibly powerful hero, even though he’s currently ranked outside the top 10. He has the ability to become even stronger than many of the higher-ranked heroes, but his lack of confidence holds him back. That’s why he continues to work as Fatgum’s assistant.
Despite everything, Tamaki’s Quirk, Manifest, is incredibly powerful. He can create real objects based on what he’s eaten – he’s made everything from huge tentacles to strong shields. During the battle with Shigaraki, he even created a plasma cannon that fired a massive, destructive blast.
Neito Monoma
During the Final War arc, Neito Monoma impressed many fans with his incredible strength and determination. He skillfully copied Eraserhead’s Quirk, effectively stopping Tomura Shigaraki from using any of his abilities, including the dangerous Decay. His actions were crucial, as without Monoma’s help, Mirko and the UA’s Big Three would have faced a much more difficult, and potentially disastrous, battle against Shigaraki.
Monoma is quickly becoming a standout hero. He’s finally getting the recognition he’s earned, and many believe he has the potential to become one of the very best. Currently ranked as the number 10 hero, that position feels well-deserved.
