4 Short Games to Play This Weekend (9/12 – 9/14)

Given my profession, it’s no secret that I find myself immersed in numerous games (quite the unfortunate predicament!). In my precious downtime from work, I strive for gaming experiences that are compact yet impactful. While I’ll forever cherish longer adventures, short games hold a unique allure as well. Here are a few hidden gems that deserve more limelight.

Hades 2’s September 25 Launch is a Boon and a Curse

Early access periods offer wonderful chances to help developers, but because they don’t have fixed deadlines and may not meet all their objectives yet, I often find myself shifting my attention to other games that are coming out. In the period between when I stopped playing the early access version of Hades 2 and now, my excitement for its full release has grown significantly. However, in a bittersweet turn of events, Hades 2 is set to be released on September 25, which coincides with the release date of Silent Hill f. Regrettably, this means that there’s a high chance that even Silent Hill f might not surpass my anticipation for Hades 2 now that Hollow Knight: Silksong has been launched.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Narrows Down Release Date

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream serves as the third installment in the series, however, its first version didn’t see release beyond Japan, making this the second game accessible in the west. The last addition to the series came 12 years ago on the Nintendo 3DS, leaving fans eagerly anticipating a sequel for quite some time. Although Nintendo had previously unveiled the game, this fresh glimpse offers a clearer picture of its appearance and new elements incorporated into the latest iteration.

Best Tools in Silksong (Tier List)

In the game of Silksong, not every tool is created equal. While top-tier tools work well across different playstyles and throughout the entire game, even the least effective tools can still prove handy under certain circumstances or when used in conjunction with specific crests.

Best PS1 Games That Aged Like Milk

As a retro gaming enthusiast, I gotta admit, some PlayStation 1 classics, though iconic, can be a tad challenging for today’s gamers to truly enjoy due to their dated elements like voice acting, controls, and graphics. While they’re not poorly designed per se, they seem to hail from a different era that’s harder for modern players to connect with.

Most of the time, you’ll find superior contemporary versions or sequels that have surpassed these original games in terms of gameplay and visuals. So, while I appreciate their historical significance, it’s often more engaging to immerse myself in updated editions or follow-ups.
