From Dazra’s town square, if you gaze to the right side of the main building, you’ll spot a path descending into a trench. Beware, Vortex Phantoms may appear unpredictably within this pit, taking on different shapes including the formidable Hopeless variants that are more powerful than regular ones. These phantoms have the ability to teleport and can be tricky to pinpoint during combat. Keep an eye on your mini-map to monitor their movements and firing locations.

Where To Get Vortex Cysts In Starfield: Shattered Space
In the Shattered Space DLC expansion, Vortex Cysts are not merely placed there; instead, they’re dropped by a new enemy type called Vortex Horrors. These monsters may appear on paths or within dungeons linked to the main storyline, but they can also be encountered randomly across the planet. To encounter Vortex Horrors frequently, players should explore the Anomalous Cave, which is associated with the main quest The Other Side. Similar to Vortex Phantoms, Vortex Horrors will only drop a piece of the Vortex Cyst, together with Vortex Shards.
What Are Vortex Shards & Vortex Cysts Used From In Starfield: Shattered Space
The only use for Vortex Shards and Vortex Cysts is to craft Vortex Grenades. This can be done at any Industrial Workbench, and only one Vortex Shard is used to create a Grenade. Vortex grenades are also crafted using Vortex Cysts, which require players to hunt down other, stronger enemies added in the DLC. There are five variations of Vortex Grenades so get five Vortex Grenades and try them each out before using your entire supply.
