MultiVersus Stage Leaks Explained

MultiVersus Stage Leaks Explained

As a die-hard MultiVersus fan, who has spent countless hours in the game since its release, I’ve been keeping a keen eye on every update and leak that surfaces about this fantastic crossover fighting game. The latest round of stage leaks has left me both excited and skeptical – it’s like being a kid in a candy store, but with the fear of finding a rock instead of my favorite treat!

Following its launch, there’s been a lot of excitement surrounding Warner Bros.’ multiplayer fighting game, MultiVersus. New characters, battlefields, and cosmetic items have been added to the game, and recent leaks suggest that more stages could be on the horizon, potentially offering a sneak peek into what’s next for MultiVersus.

During its initial phase, the game MultiVersus experienced an unprecedented wave of popularity that soon dwindled. To prevent this decline from impacting the official launch, Warner Bros. has effectively utilized the live service aspect of the game by regularly introducing fresh content to retain player interest. However, due to the game’s near-constant updates, it has become a hot spot for data miners and leakers. Over the past few months, some of these leakers have shared glimpses of upcoming stages they claim are in development. Unfortunately, these leakers were recently expelled from X, making it challenging to verify the authenticity of their sources. While such information should be approached with caution, as no official confirmation has been provided about the veracity of these future maps, the prospect has ignited enthusiasm among fans.

Most Concrete Examples

In this latest round of leaks, the authenticity can vary quite a bit, from plausible to downright peculiar. While all these maps are conceptual for now, the quality of the art and certain playable characters make some more believable than others. Similar to many crossover fighting games, each player usually gets their own stage, and these stages typically belong to a playable fighter. However, MultiVersus deviates slightly from this common pattern.

Looney Tunes

In the light of Looney Tunes being a prized asset within Warner Bros., it’s understandable that the franchise has a presence in MultiVersus, but there’s still potential for more content. Leaked artwork suggests two new maps inspired by the classic cartoons. One map seems to introduce an unprecedented location within the Looney Tunes universe, featuring a main platform, a tree with a treehouse offering smaller platforms, and lower areas designed as carrot gardens – a nod to Bugs Bunny’s favorite snack. Interestingly, while Bugs Bunny is a playable character in MultiVersus since its launch and considered one of the top-tier fighters, he currently lacks his own stage.

The second leaked “Looney Tunes” level appears to be inspired by the classic Coyote and Roadrunner cartoons, set against a backdrop of a dusty canyon with a road winding through it, and a sign that reads “Beep Beep.” This battlefield extends across the entire screen, mimicking the top of a rocky arch. On either side, there are two wooden towers constructed, while a massive pile of Acme TNT forms a central platform. The explosive platform also includes a plunger, suggesting potential stage hazards. If authentic, this stage could signal the introduction of either Wile E. Coyote or the Roadrunner into the game, as these characters are not currently included in it, although they are not among the rumored new additions.

Adventure Time

It’s no wonder that Adventure Time is frequently mentioned as a significant factor in Cartoon Network’s resurgence, given its influence. Consequently, it’s not surprising to see it incorporated into MultiVersus. Currently, there are only three characters from the show on the roster, but surprisingly, there’s just one stage based on Adventure Time. If leaked maps of the Candy Kingdom and a tavern-like location within become reality, they would balance out the number of stages per character.

Samurai Jack

Among the latest characters added to MultiVersus, Samurai Jack has garnered significant attention from players. His growing fanbase could potentially influence the creation of a stage inspired by his self-named series. The combat area in this proposed map is quite basic, featuring a single flat platform that dominates the screen. Nevertheless, it’s the art that truly sets Samurai Jack’s world apart.

Acme Labs

The Acme Labs stage leak stands out as a highly complete looking map based on an IP that isn’t currently represented in the game at all. This lab is the home of Pinky and The Brain, two lab mice bent on world domination, who started life in The Animaniacs before receiving their own spinoff show. This map takes place atop a lab table with some sort of electronic device on it. It’s unclear if the device would create platforms, but a large hamster wheel in the center of the table has four dominoes mounted to it that would. With the wheel being attached to the device, it’s speculated that the domino platforms would rotate during the fight. A gimmick like this could even place this MultiVersus stage among fan favorites if it becomes a reality. Though Pinky and the Brain aren’t in MultiVersus yet, if this stage turns out to be real, they might be included in a later update.

Highly Rumored

Additional maps, albeit in incomplete forms, have been secretly revealed alongside the main ones. Notably, Barbie and Harry Potter have been suggested as potential playable characters due to rumored stages. Evident hints include a rudimentary pink model of Barbie’s Dreamhouse and an unfinished stage featuring broomsticks in flight, which might indicate a Harry Potter level. Fans are excited about other basic models suggesting more franchises could be added in future updates. A map that appears to take place on top of unusual vehicles is speculated to be the upcoming Mad Max stage, while another seems to resemble Courage the Cowardly Dog’s house and windmill. Given Warner Bros.’ vast portfolio, it’s no wonder that MultiVersus fans are speculating wildly about new additions, although it’s crucial to remember these leaks have yet to be confirmed officially.
