Bloober Team has skillfully recreated a heartfelt remake of the original Silent Hill 2. They stay true to the game’s legacy by incorporating 26 ‘Flashes from the Past’. Each ‘Flash from the Past’ serves as a nostalgic nod to the original Silent Hill 2, and players can experience all 26 of them in a single playthrough to earn the ‘Echoes’ trophy, which they can proudly display on their collection shelf.

Following Silent Hill Ranch, make your way towards the barricaded tunnel encircled by wooden slats and metal piping. Reaching the middle will trigger a command for you to unlock the door to the initial glimpse of the past.

Glimpses of the Past #2

Following the Flower Shop and upon James noticing the monster shrouded in mist, players should navigate towards the right side of the road as indicated on their map, where they will find Vachss Road. There, you’ll see a “No Entry” sign on a metallic gate. This location triggers the second glimpse into the Past.

Glimpses of the Past #3

Leaving the building after securing the radio and defeating the initial foe, veer immediately to your right towards a barricaded and gory yard. Engaging with the spattered blood here grants you the third glimpse into the Past.

Glimpses of the Past #4

Just to the side of the Wood Side Apartments on Katz Street, you’ll find a dumpster. Interacting with this dumpster will set off your fourth glimpse into the past for you.

Glimpses of the Past #5

Go all the way down Katz Street until you reach the wall completely draped in white fabric. Towards the middle of this fabric, you’ll find a tiny opening that can be engaged with to initiate the fifth instance of the Past’s revelation.

Following the use of the “2F Hallway Key”, players will be required to enter “Room 213”. Inside this room, there are mysterious markings on the wall in the bedroom. Interacting with these markings will initiate the “Sixth Flashback from the Past”.

Blue Creek Apartments – All Glimpses of the Past

Following the use of the Winged Key to leap over a large door opening, players will find themselves in Room 110 on Blue Creek Apartments’ first floor. Inside this room, they’ll encounter a decayed piece of furniture that offers an opportunity for players to engage with it and uncover the seventh Glimpse of the Past.

After solving the puzzle in Room 212, players can make their way to the staircase. At the top of the stairs, they should find the body of a Lying Figure adversary. Engaging with this enemy’s corpse will initiate the eighth flashback of the past.

After encountering Maria and walking through Rosewater Park, players will find themselves in South Vale (West). To get to Pete’s Bowl-O-Rama, they should move up along Nathan Avenue. Just a bit further, between two buildings on Carroll Street, you’ll spot a staircase that triggers the ninth historical vignette, or “Glimpse of the Past.

Step into Pete’s Bowl-O-Rama and make your way to the bowling alleys. To your left, you’ll find a pizza box and some bread crumbs. Interact with these items to unlock the tenth glimpse of the Past and earn the Leftovers trophy.

Once players reach Brookhaven Hospital’s 2F, they should aim to explore the Laundry Room. Inside this room, there’s a trash can filled to the brim on the left side of a desk with a typewriter. By interacting with this particular trash can, they can unlock the eleventh instance of the Past Glimpse.

Glimpses of the Past #12

From the Director’s Office on Brookhaven Hospital’s 2nd floor, head to your left and enter Room M1. Inside, you’ll find a hospital bed with a rusty chain in its center. Interacting with this bed will bring about the twelfth glimpse of the past.

Glimpses of the Past #13

With the ability to enter Brookhaven Hospital 1F now available for players, they should make their way towards the bottom-left corner of the Medical Records room. There, they will find a typewriter that houses the thirteenth piece of the Past’s Glimpse.

Glimpses of the Past #14

Following the resolution of the Director’s Office safe enigma, players can ascend to the rooftop via the stairs on the 3rd floor. Upon reaching the rooftop, stay on the walkway veering right and engage with the railing offering a view of a damaged metal barrier. This will mark the fourteenth instance where players can catch a glimpse into the Past.

Following an encounter with Pyramid Head on the Rooftop, players gain access to a fresh location within Brookhaven Hospital on the 3rd Floor. To proceed, they must reach the Room I3, where a stain on the cushioned walls will set off the 15th Flashback of the Past.

In the Otherworld version of Brookhaven Hospital 2F, players should proceed south from the Chained Box and enter the Restroom. Utilize the metal cart to get into Room L1, then follow the corridor to reach Room M4. Here, a hole in the wall grants access to Room M5. Inside this room, you’ll find a pair of handprints on the wall that will activate the sixteenth Glimpse of the Past.

As players journey through the Otherworld’s replica of South Vale, they should watch for the moment they reach the Eastern part of South Vale. Inside Neely’s Bar at that location, they will find a bloodstained map which can be interacted with to gain their seventeenth glimpse into the Past.

Upon entering the cafeteria area of Toluca Prison, using the Spiral-writing Key, players should first turn right to find a wooden slab on a table. Interacting with this slab will initiate the eighteenth glimpse into the Past, which can be experienced before the Eddie cutscene.

Venture into the main section of Toluca Prison, 1F, and locate Cell A3 within Block A. There, you’ll find a spiritual sanctuary on a shelf that you can engage with to uncover the nineteenth glimpse of history.

When players enter the Hornless Ox door and proceed through Toluca Prison’s 2nd floor, they will eventually arrive at the Toilets and subsequently the Showers. In the Showers, follow the wall to your right until you spot a rag and a wooden plank. This is where the twentieth remnant of the Past can be found.

As a gamer, when I reach the Eyeless Boar’s chamber, I navigate through the first floor of Toluca Prison, specifically the Boar Section. After passing by the Break Room on the lower left side of the map, which is opposite the staircase, I stumble upon a floor hatch marked with a horseshoe. Interacting with this hatch will reward me with the twenty-first glimpse into the Past.

After reaching the Rotten Area, players should aim to enter the room containing the Suspended Cage. To get there, consult your map and proceed through the left door, then make an immediate right turn to smash the breakable wall. Inside this wall is a small square room with a noose and a rope. Inspecting this rope will provide you with the twentieth Glimpse of the Past.

Upon arriving at Lakeview Hotel, locate the staircase to your right near the garden. You’ll find a fountain with a fish statue there. Inside this fountain, you’ll discover an interactive item that, when selected, will activate the twenty-third glimpse of the past.

After players have navigated their way into the second floor of the Lakeview Hotel’s western wing, they should make their way towards Room 212, where they will find an open luggage. Interacting with this luggage triggers the twenty-fourth flashback from the past.

After obtaining the Employee Elevator Key, players should make their way towards the Pantry, which is located to the left of the Break Room on the 1F of Lakeview Hotel. There, they can find the twenty-fifth Glimpse of the Past stored on a shelf.

Glimpses of the Past #26

In the hotel, following James’s viewing of the videotape in Room 312 and his entrance into the Otherworld version, he can make his way down the hotel hall. He will find himself at the restroom first, then proceed to the Reading Room. Inside this room, a tape recorder is placed on a couch, ready to play the twenty-sixth glimpse of the past. Activating this recorder should trigger the Echoes trophy, which is awarded for observing all glimpses of the past in one playthrough.
