Throughout your journey in Resident Evil Village, you’ll collect many different guns. These can quickly fill up your limited inventory with weapons you might not need, especially after discovering more powerful options while exploring.
It’s smart to sell weapons in Resident Evil Village, but timing is key. Here’s a guide to which weapons you should sell, and when, to maximize your Lei and avoid wasting money on unnecessary upgrades.
When Should You Sell the LEMI Handgun in Resident Evil Village?
After Castle Dimitrescu, When You Find the M1911 Pistol
You receive the LEMI Handgun early in Resident Evil Village – an old man gives it to you right before he’s attacked by lycans, forcing you to fight for your life. While it’s useful at the beginning, it quickly becomes outmatched by other weapons you’ll find.
After leaving Castle Dimitrescu and returning to the Village, head straight to the Workshop in West Old Town. There, you’ll find a locked cabinet that you can open with the code 07-04-08 to get the M1911 Pistol. This pistol is much more powerful and shoots faster than the LEMI, so you can safely get rid of the LEMI to free up space in your inventory.
When Should You Sell the M1897 Shotgun in Resident Evil Village?
After House Beneviento, When You Find the W870 TAC Shotgun
Okay, so I finally got the M1897 Shotgun! It was during my first visit to the Village, before I even met that creepy old woman who leads you to the statue. It’s a really solid weapon, and it definitely helped me get through all the tight spaces inside Castle Dimitrescu. Honestly, it gave me a lot of confidence, but I quickly realized it wouldn’t be my go-to gun for very long.
After you visit the Village a second time, you’ll explore House Beneviento. This section is unique because you won’t need any guns. Once you leave, you’ll gain access to the Garden. Inside the southern building of the Garden, you’ll discover the W870 TAC shotgun – a much better weapon than the M1897, making the latter one good to sell.
When Should You Sell the F2 Sniper Rifle in Resident Evil Village?
After Moreau’s Reservoir, When You Find the M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum
You can find the F2 Rifle in the attic of Castle Dimitrescu. It’s a great weapon for taking down enemies from a distance thanks to its scope. However, later in the game, it might not be as useful because many enemies will get close, and the scope can actually make it harder to aim at them.
If you don’t find the Sniper Rifle helpful, or you’d rather have more Lei, you can sell it after escaping Moreau’s Reservoir. Once you’re past that area, you’ll get the Crank, which lets you open Moreau’s Laboratory and find a powerful hidden weapon: the M1851 Wolfsbane. This Magnum doesn’t have the range of a Sniper Rifle, but it packs a much bigger punch and is worth upgrading.

When Should You Sell the W87 TAC Shotgun in Resident Evil Village?
During Heisenberg’s Factory, When You Purchase the SYG-12 Shotgun
Early in the game, replace your M1897 Shotgun with the W87 Tac Shotgun. Later on, once you get to Heisenberg’s Factory and meet Duke, you’ll want to trade in the W87 Tac for the more powerful SYG-12 and earn some extra money.
Okay, so I just got my hands on the SYG-12, and wow, it’s a serious upgrade. The damage and how fast it fires are insane – honestly, it’s the best shotgun I’ve found so far. I’m ditching the W87 TAC for sure; keeping that around now would just be a waste of inventory space.
When Should You Sell the M1911 Pistol in Resident Evil Village?
During Heisenberg’s Factory, When You Purchase the V61 Custom Pistol
You’ll primarily use the M1911 pistol throughout most of Resident Evil Village. However, once you reach Heisenberg’s Factory and find the Duke at the elevator, you can buy the V61 Custom. This new pistol is much better than the M1911, offering more damage, a faster reload, and a higher rate of fire.
Honestly, as cool as the M1911 looks, it’s not worth holding onto once you hit Heisenberg’s Factory. You can find a much better pistol there – it’s fully automatic and way more powerful than anything else you’ve got. Seriously, this is the gun you want for any firefight.
When Should You Sell the M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum in Resident Evil Village?
During New Game Plus, When You Purchase the S.T.A.K.E. Magnum
The M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum is a powerful weapon that will make short work of bosses, and it’s worth upgrading for the late game. However, once you start New Game Plus, a better option becomes available. While extra content offers other weapons, the S.T.A.K.E. Magnum is accessible to everyone. It significantly outperforms the Wolfsbane, so when you meet Duke, it’s best to buy the S.T.A.K.E. and sell the Wolfsbane to fund your upgrades for this superior weapon.
