Solo Leveling is becoming incredibly popular, especially with the recent news about its upcoming anime and other adaptations. These new releases are revealing more about Sung Jinwoo’s amazing powers as the Shadow Monarch, his transformation, and his quest to become the world’s strongest. These extra details, not yet shown in the anime or manhwa, are keeping fans excited and encouraging them to learn more about his incredible journey.
With Seasons 1 and 2 of Solo Leveling being a hit, fans are eagerly awaiting news about Season 3 and how Sung Jinwoo’s incredible journey will continue. While we wait for the official announcement, let’s revisit the key characters who are likely to play a major part in the challenges Jinwoo will face in the upcoming season.
Sung Jinwoo
-
Without its main character, Sung Jinwoo, Solo Leveling just wouldn’t be the same. He’s the central hero of the story, consistently facing the world’s most powerful threats. Over the first two seasons, Jinwoo has repeatedly proven himself, establishing himself as the one to watch.
I watched as Jinwoo truly cemented his place as the strongest hunter in both Korea and Japan after taking down the Ant King on Jeju Island. Now, the whole world is focused on him, fascinated by the incredible powers he demonstrated when he single-handedly cleared that S-rank dungeon. Everyone’s trying to figure out just what he’s capable of.
Cha Hae-In
Cha Hae-In is a powerful hunter to watch in future seasons of Solo Leveling. Although her fight against the Ant King in Season 2 wasn’t her best, she’s not giving up. She’s now even more motivated to improve and establish herself as one of Korea’s strongest female S-rank hunters.
Cha Hae-In has grown to care deeply for Jinwoo, who has saved her multiple times when she was in trouble. Because she wants to remain with him and keep pace with his increasing strength, it makes sense that she’s working to improve her own abilities. She’s a more complex character than she appears, and viewers can anticipate she’ll continue to be a significant part of the story.
Sung Jin-Ah
Solo Leveling Animation Partners Sung Jin-Ah is incredibly important to Jinwoo. As his younger sister, her health and safety are his biggest concern. She also helps him stay connected to his humanity, reminding him what he’s fighting for and who he’s fighting for – the people he cares about most.
Jin-Ah isn’t a fighter herself, but because she’s close to Jinwoo, she often finds herself in dangerous situations. Even though she doesn’t have any special abilities, Jinwoo constantly worries about her safety, and it pushes him to fight even harder. Anyone who harms her will face Jinwoo’s full, terrifying fury.
Sung Il-Hwan
I’ve been watching Solo Leveling, and it’s clear that every Sung family member is important. Sung Il-Hwan really stands out, though – he’s incredibly powerful. Honestly, he’s one of the strongest characters I’ve seen, easily matching or even surpassing hunters like Thomas Andre. It makes sense, considering he’s Jinwoo’s father, and the American Hunters Association calls him the ‘monster of the dungeon’ – a pretty fitting title, if you ask me.
Even though Sung Il-Hwan hasn’t been in many scenes in the first two seasons of Solo Leveling, his ties to Jinwoo and his dealings with the Frost and Beast Monarchs strongly suggest he’ll play a vital part in the upcoming fights against stronger enemies after Season 2.

Ashborn
Ashborn was the first person in Solo Leveling to see how strong Jinwoo could become and take a chance on him. Without Ashborn stepping in, Jinwoo wouldn’t have survived the double dungeon and wouldn’t have been able to reach his full potential as a powerful fighter.
I’ve been watching the story unfold, and even though we haven’t seen Ashborn directly much yet, his impact is huge. It’s clear he’s a major force shaping what happens with Jinwoo and even the system itself. Because Ashborn believed in Jinwoo, the hunter was able to avoid a lot of the hardship and betrayal others face, and really grow into his potential. It’s like he gave Jinwoo a chance to live a life free from those kinds of weaknesses.
Kandiaru
Dedicated fans of Solo Leveling quickly noticed Kandiaru during the double dungeon event. He was present throughout the dangerous situation at the Cartenon Temple, silently watching Jinwoo and the other hunters as they battled for survival.
Kandiaru appears imposing, like a massive temple statue, but he’s far from unfeeling. He’s the one guiding Jinwoo’s progress, as the only player in a system Kandiaru himself created. As long as Jinwoo uses the system and its abilities, Kandiaru will remain essential to his adventures.
Go Gun-Hee
You know, ever since Sung Il-Hwan disappeared, Go Gun-Hee from the Korean Hunters Association has really stepped up for Jinwoo. He’s become like a father figure to him, honestly. He reminds me of those classic anime dads – totally calm and collected, with this incredible wisdom. He’s always there to guide everyone with kindness and a ton of experience, and it’s clear he genuinely cares.
As the head of KHA, he’s in charge of all hunters nationwide, including Sung Jin-Woo. He’s willing to bend the rules for Jin-Woo, as long as Korea’s strongest S-rank hunter keeps protecting the country. He learned from the situation with Hwang Dong-Soo and now makes sure to fully support Jin-Woo in any way he can.
Frost Monarch Sillad
I’ve been observing the two monarchs who showed up on Jeju Island, and it’s Sillad that Jinwoo really needs to watch out for. As the leader of the Snowfolk, he commands powerful ice elves – similar to Baruka we saw during the Red Gate incident – and honestly, his strength and intelligence could give even someone as strong as Sung Jinwoo a real challenge. He seems like a seriously dangerous opponent.
Sillad is a king obsessed with power, and he’ll stop at nothing – including eliminating rivals – to prove his dominance over humans and other leaders. It’s only a matter of time before he inevitably confronts Jinwoo, another incredibly powerful figure, and a clash between them becomes unavoidable.
