How to Get HM01 Cut in Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen
HM01 Cut Location
You can find the HM01 Cut hidden in the Captain’s Cabin aboard the S.S. Anne, a fancy cruise ship located in Vermilion City in the Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen games. To get onto the ship, you’ll first need an S.S. Ticket. You can get this ticket by talking to Bill, a Pokemon Researcher, at his cottage on the eastern side of Route 25.
Leave Cerulean City and go north over Nugget Bridge onto Route 24. Continue east on Route 24, then keep heading east, going past the trainers and hedges, until you reach the Sea Cottage.
Go inside the house and speak to the Clefairy you find in the center of the room. It’s actually Bill, but he’s been merged with a Pokémon and needs your assistance to change back to normal.
Once you’ve spoken with Bill, you’ll need to help him reverse the experiment. Go to his desk and press the ‘A’ key on the computer. Once the process is complete, Bill will turn back into a human and give you the S.S. Ticket as a thank you.
Now that you have the S.S. Ticket, return to Cerulean City and travel south onto Route 5. Use the Underground Path near the Day Care to get to Route 6, which will take you straight to Vermilion City.
Go to the S.S. Anne, which is located in the south harbor. Show the guard your ticket, and they will allow you on board.
Use the stairs west of the entrance to reach the upper deck (2F).
Continue south, then east, and don’t take the stairs on your left. At the end of the deck, turn north, and you’ll face your rival, who’s prepared for a battle.
After defeating him in combat, go up the stairs located behind where he was standing to enter the Captain’s Quarters. Speak with the Captain and give him a massage – he’ll reward you with HM01 Cut.
Once you get the HM01 Cut, don’t leave the S.S. Anne! The ship will leave without you if you do, so be sure to check every part of it first.
