Season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is one of the most anticipated anime releases of Winter 2026. After five episodes, the show continues to focus on quiet moments, meaningful connections between characters, and a lighthearted atmosphere. The latest episode, number 5, didn’t advance the main storyline significantly; it began with a story about a dwarf’s decades-long search for a special drink. Later, Frieren, Stark, and Fern reached Norm Company Territory, where Frieren used her magic to help the trade group avoid bankruptcy.
After a lot of excitement around episode 5 of Frieren, fans were disappointed to learn that episode 6 would be delayed a week because of the Winter Olympics. The good news is Frieren is back this week! The next episode is expected to be very exciting, introducing a powerful new villain and bringing back some well-loved mages from the first season.
Frieren’s Divine Revolte Arc is About to Begin

Season 2, Episode 6 will bring a fan-favorite story arc from the Frieren manga to life: the Divine Revolte Arc. This arc, covering chapters 71-76, begins with the destruction of a village on the Northern Plateau, believed to be caused by demons. While searching for survivors, Frieren, Fern, and Stark encounter the powerful mages Genau and Methode. The evidence quickly points to Divine Revolte as the attacker – a fearsome enemy known for fighting with four swords at once, promising a challenging battle for the group.
Many fans consider the Divine Revolte Arc to be a highlight of the Frieren manga, and the rest of the anime season promises exciting developments for Stark. Viewers eager to see Stark reach his full potential won’t want to miss what happens as he prepares to face a powerful demon. After a few calmer episodes focusing on Fern and Stark’s growing bond and their journey across the Northern Plateau, the series is about to shift gears, trading its relaxed pace for more intense action.

The first season of Frieren was a long one with 28 episodes, but the upcoming Season 2 will be much shorter. Fans are worried this could affect the story’s flow. It was announced in January that Season 2 will only have 10 episodes, and with half of those already aired, the remaining five episodes will probably be filled with more events and action than what viewers have seen so far.
