I was totally blown away by something I saw in Heartopia! This one player built the bathhouse from Spirited Away, and it looked incredible! Heartopia is this free-to-play life sim that came out in China a while ago, but it finally launched worldwide in early 2026. One of the coolest things about the game is how much freedom you have to design and build whatever you want, and this player really took advantage of that. There’s a really active community too, and everyone’s always sharing their decorating ideas – it’s awesome!
I’ve been really enjoying Heartopia lately, and it seems like a lot of other people are too! It’s only been out for about two months, but it’s already had a great start. They’ve gotten over a million downloads on mobile, and at one point, over 66,000 people were playing on Steam at the same time! There’s so much to do – you can level up your guild, help out the townspeople with their requests, and just generally build a life for yourself. One of my favorite parts is decorating my house! People are getting super creative with it – some are designing completely original things, while others are recreating famous scenes. I even saw someone who built their house to look exactly like a really iconic building from an anime – it was amazing!
Heartopia Fan Builds Spirited Away-Inspired Bathhouse
A Reddit user named Weak_Razzmatazz2287 recently shared their stunning recreation of the bathhouse from Studio Ghibli‘s classic film, Spirited Away, built in the game Heartopia. The large structure closely resembles the movie’s iconic location, featuring Japanese-style roofs and wooden walkways. It also includes a front garden and a tall balcony. The addition of realistic hot springs, complete with water and stone walls, is particularly impressive. The user notes that the build is still ongoing, but the photos already demonstrate a remarkable level of detail.
I was so impressed by this Heartopia build I saw online! Everyone was asking the creator, Weak_Razzmatazz2287, how they got water in their build, because it’s super rare. They explained they got it from the pools in the newest treehouse banner from Heartopia’s gacha system. Apparently, those pools come with moss walls, not rock ones, so they cleverly built bigger pools and added smaller rock barriers inside to look like hot spring walls. It’s amazing! And they even included crop fields, which is a really cool reference to the scenery in Spirited Away – I totally got that vibe!
Players of life-simulation games often enjoy building things from their favorite movies, TV shows, and other games. A fan of both Red Dead Redemption 2 and Heartopia recently rebuilt the town of Valentine within Heartopia, including buildings like the sheriff’s office and doctor’s office. Heartopia is adding new items regularly, which means we can expect even more creative builds from players in the future – both original designs and recreations of famous places. While building in Heartopia can take a lot of time – one player spent nearly 10 hours designing their perfect house – the sense of accomplishment when a build is finished is a big part of what makes these games so enjoyable.
Some players have criticized the gacha system in Heartopia, which is used to get furniture and outfits. They feel it’s unfair and takes too much effort to collect a complete set, hindering their ability to fully customize their game. Despite this, Heartopia recently held a My Little Pony event, offering limited-edition vehicles based on the show’s characters, ending on March 15th. The My Little Pony collaboration was unexpected given the game is relatively new in Western markets, and players are curious to see what partnerships Heartopia will announce next.
