The popular action game Ninja Gaiden 4, a standout launch title for Xbox Game Pass in 2025, is getting its first big downloadable content pack. It’s part of a growing trend where Xbox Game Pass subscribers get access to new games on the very day they’re released.
As a huge Xbox fan, I’ve been consistently impressed with Game Pass. It’s just such a great value for getting access to so many games! What really sets it apart from PlayStation Plus or Nintendo Switch Online, for me, is that Microsoft puts some of their biggest new releases on Game Pass right when they come out. I’m especially excited about playing Forza Horizon 6 and Fable without having to buy them separately! They’ve already announced a bunch of games coming in March 2026, and at least one will be available on day one. Plus, it’s awesome that they include older, classic games too – it’s a great way to rediscover some of the best games ever made!
Ninja Gaiden 4 Is Getting a New, Story-Driven Expansion in March
The popular action game Ninja Gaiden 4, a major hit for Xbox Game Pass, is getting its first big expansion. Called “The Two Masters,” the downloadable content (DLC) will add new story missions, gameplay modes, and weapons for both playable characters. It also includes some improvements to the overall game experience. Players can jump into the new content on March 4, 2026.

The upcoming “The Two Masters” content for Ninja Gaiden 4 will add new story chapters for both Ryu Hayabusa and the new character, Yakumo. These chapters continue their stories after the main game’s ending, pitting them against new enemies and bosses. Each ninja will also gain a new weapon: Ryu will wield the “Jakotsumon” serpent gauntlets, and Yakumo will use the “Solitaire” scythe. These weapons are designed to fit each character’s fighting style, adding more options for players in combat. Although the new story chapters unlock after completing the main game, the new weapons can be used during the campaign itself.
I’m really excited about the new DLC for Ninja Gaiden 4! It’s not just adding to the story and giving us cool new weapons, but there’s this new mode called “Abyssal Road” that sounds incredibly tough – 100 new fights with enemies from all over the game! They’re even changing up how battles work, so it won’t just be the same old thing. Plus, the developers are adding a bunch of improvements and fixing bugs, like letting us tweak combat and customize our favorite weapons. It sounds like they’re really making the whole experience even better for fans like me!
Image via Xbox Game Studios The new “Two Masters” downloadable content for Ninja Gaiden 4 shows Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo are committed to continuing the series and giving players more content. This also helps bring the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa back into the spotlight for both longtime fans and newcomers. Ryu’s appearance in the trailer for the next Dead or Alive game further highlights Team Ninja’s two most popular franchises, aiming to re-establish them as mainstays in gaming for a new audience.
