However, in “Thunderclap: Part 2,” Mahoraga proved to be a serious threat, not a joke. This was a moment Jujutsu Kaisen fans had been anticipating, and it perfectly matched the anime’s dramatic style to see Megumi risking his life with this powerful, last-ditch effort. He needed Mahoraga to fight Haruta, but the villain Ryomen Sukuna intervened with his own plans.

“Thunderclap: Part 2” is a perfect episode because it brilliantly mixes intense action with Sukuna’s manipulative tactics that throw the heroes into chaos. While Sukuna defeating Mahoraga to save Megumi was a relief, it’s clear he had ulterior motives, creating a complex and suspenseful rescue. The episode’s most impactful moment is when Yuji wakes up to the aftermath of the battle, fully realizing the weight of being Sukuna’s host.

“Shibuya Incident – Gate, Open” Was the Beginning of the End for Satoru Gojo

It hit Yuji so hard – another devastating loss to add to the pile, after everything he went through with Junpei and Kento. “Right and Wrong – Part 3” really showed how much this one impacted him. He was completely crushed, pushed to his absolute limit, but even then, he refused to give up – it was seriously inspiring to see his spirit stay strong despite everything.

This episode of Jujutsu Kaisen was incredibly intense, combining truly frightening moments with Yuji’s determination in battle. The surprising plot twists are what make this arc so compelling, and Aoi Todo’s arrival provided a welcome glimmer of hope as he came to help Yuji. This was the second time Yuji has relied on Aoi against powerful curses, and this time, his support felt even more crucial and inspiring than before.

“Hidden Inventory: Part 4” Was the Ultimate Flashback Showdown

Before the intense events in Shibuya, the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen showed us a story from the past, featuring young Satoru and Suguru. The main focus was their job protecting Riko Amanai while bringing her to Tengen, but things quickly went wrong. Toji Fushiguro proved to be a powerful enemy, skilled in weapons, and only Satoru was strong enough to fight him.

The fourth part of ‘Hidden Inventory’ brought this flashback story to a powerful end, as Satoru decisively defeated Toji using his overwhelming strength. While Satoru’s victory was expected, the fight was still incredibly exciting thanks to fantastic animation and the deeply personal conflict. Initially, there was a sense that Yuji might find some happiness, which made the betrayal of Junpei Yoshino especially devastating. Junpei had the potential to be a friend and classmate, but he was tragically turned into a monster controlled by Mahito.

Junpei’s death fueled an incredible fight between Yuji and Mahito – a perfect 10/10 battle. The emotional impact, the close-quarters combat, and Yuji’s sheer desperation made it truly gripping. It’s classic shonen storytelling: the hero fights with everything they have to win or get revenge, and the resulting failure feels devastating.
