In Resident Evil Requiem, players control both the popular character Leon S. Kennedy and a new character, Grace Ashcroft, as they fight to survive against waves of zombies and terrifying creatures. The game offers two different ways to play: Grace’s sections focus on the classic Resident Evil style of avoiding enemies, while playing as Leon is all about fast-paced action and impressive set pieces.
Okay, so unlike older Resident Evil games where you pick a character and stick with them, in Resident Evil Requiem the game actually switches between controlling Grace and Leon throughout the story. There are sections where I was just playing as Grace, and then long stretches where I was controlling Leon. I thought having two main characters would make the game super long, but honestly, it ended up being about the same length as other Resident Evil titles.
How Long Does Resident Evil Requiem Take to Beat?
- First playthrough: 7-8 hours on Standard difficulty
- 100%: 25-30 hours
If you’re hoping for a really long game like Resident Evil 4 or Resident Evil 6, you should know that Resident Evil Requiem is a bit shorter. Most people will probably finish it in around 7-8 hours on the normal difficulty. But if you’re a completionist like me and want to get 100% and unlock all the trophies, you’re looking at multiple playthroughs to tackle all the challenges. I’d guess it’ll take most of us around 30 hours to really finish everything – finding all the collectibles and completing those tough achievements, like beating the game without using any healing items or crafting!

If you play Resident Evil Requiem again, you’ll likely finish it faster because you’ll remember how to solve puzzles and where to go. How long it takes to beat the game also depends on the difficulty setting. An easy mode makes combat quicker, while harder difficulties provide a greater challenge. When you start, the Standard (Classic) difficulty requires you to use ink ribbons to save your progress while playing as Grace.
Unlike some other Resident Evil games, Requiem does not have defined chapters.
Most Resident Evil games don’t take too long to finish. Requiem is a bit longer than average, but still significantly shorter than the longest titles in the series. There’s even a trophy for completing Resident Evil Requiem in under four hours, proving it’s possible to beat the game quickly with some skill.
