How to Unlock Mines Ancient Ruins Biome in Fields of Mistria

Fields of Mistria keeps getting bigger and better with each update! The latest one, version 0.15.0, adds a ton of new things to do. Whether you enjoy relaxing activities like beekeeping and creating terrariums, or you’re an explorer eager to uncover Mistria’s secrets, this update has something for everyone.

A major part of this update lets you finally continue the Mines questline and explore its deepest levels. But reaching them won’t be simple! Here’s a guide to completing the necessary quests to craft Void Mass and break the Ruins Seal in Fields of Mistria.

How to Create the Void Mass in Fields of Mistria

The latest game update (0.15.0) unlocks the final area of the Mines: the Ancient Ruins (Floors 81-99). But, like with the Fire Seal before it, you’ll need to complete a few tasks before you can access them.

Now that you’re facing powerful magic deep underground, there’s a new process to follow. Once you’ve spoken with the Priestess and used your Dragon’s Breath to open a portal for her, you can enter it. This portal will lead you to a celestial plane, which she describes as a step closer to the Magic Realm. But you won’t be able to reach the Ruins Seal and discover how to break it just yet.

To get in, you’ll first need to collect four special materials called Void materials from the Mines and combine them to create a Void Mass. The Priestess will give you a new ability, Void Sight, to help you find and gather these materials. Luckily, Void Sight works automatically – you won’t have to turn it on and off.

While exploring the Mines, be sure to collect Void materials. You’ll need five of each: Void Herbs, Void Pearls, Void Stones, and Void Powder.

These items are located throughout the building, but you’ll find them on any floor. If you prefer, you can search the lower floors first. Remember to bring all your basic collecting tools, and donate any extra items you find to the Museum.

Void Herbs

Void Herbs are dark purple plants with three leaves that you can collect like any other plant found in the world or in Mines.

Void Pearls

You can find Void Pearls by fishing for small fish – keep an eye out for small shadows in the ponds and streams within the Mines! They’re quite common, so you’ll probably collect a lot of them quickly.

Void Stones

Void Stones look like big, dark purple gems with a glowing edge. You can mine them with a Pickaxe to get stones.

Void Powder

Void Powder is a rare item you can get by defeating monsters in the Mines. It can take a significant amount of time to collect, as the chances of it dropping vary for each player.

How to Break the Ruins Seal in Fields of Mistria

After collecting all the Void materials, go back to Floor 80 and re-enter the portal. Walk up to the cauldron at the top of the stairs and use it to add the materials. Choose the ‘Offer’ option, and the Void Mass will appear above the cauldron, completing the first step.

The Priestess will then create a copy of you using the Void Mass. This copy will allow you to safely examine the Ruins Seal tablet and figure out how to break it. You’ll need one of each of the following items: a Breath of Flame, a Smoke Moth, a Firesail Fish, and a piece of Obsidian.

Breath of Flame

You can find Breath of Flame, a red plant, while exploring the Lava Caves in the Mines, specifically on floors 61 through 79.

Smoke Moth

You can find Smoke Moths in the Lava Caves area of the Mines (between floors 61 and 79). They’re a bit rare, so it might take a while for one to appear. You’ll easily recognize them by the puffs of smoke coming from their heads.

Firesail Fish

You can catch Firesail Fish in the Lava Caves, specifically on floors 61 through 79 of the Mines. Look for large fish shadows in the water – those are the ones you need. They don’t appear very often, so collecting these fish might take a while and could be one of the last items you get.

Obsidian

You can get Obsidian by mining the black crystals found in the Lava Caves (levels 61-79 of the Mines), or by defeating Lava Cats. If you’ve unlocked the Stone Refinery, you can also make Obsidian from regular Stone, which can be much faster than gathering it directly.

After gathering all four materials, go back to Floor 80 and give them to the person you were sent to help. This will break the Ruins Seal, allowing you to enter the Ancient Ruins. Be careful, though – the floors ahead are very dark and will be difficult to navigate. Good luck!
