The Soul Spear is a great weapon to find early on in Crimson Desert. You can discover it in a hidden dungeon located in the snowy mountains west of Hernand. The good news is, you won’t have to solve any puzzles to get it! The dungeon does contain a large group of enemies, and the cold weather will make the fight harder if you aren’t properly equipped. Here’s how to find the Soul Spear early in Crimson Desert.
Crimson Desert Soul Spear Location
You can find the Soul Spear in an underground dungeon located right where the letter ‘H’ appears on the world map in Hernand. The dungeon entrance is on a cliff face, so it’s easiest to approach from above. If you’re coming from the bottom, use Aerial Force Palm – jump and then use Force Palm – to quickly launch yourself upwards and save stamina. It’s best to approach the dungeon from the direction of Hoenmark Ruins.
The dungeon where you find the Soul Spear is packed with enemies from the Antumbra Order, including mages who fly around and attack with dark magic from afar. If you’re skilled and well-equipped in Crimson Desert, you can shoot these mages down to the ground using long-range attacks. We suggest using the Focus Shot skill, as it makes it easier to hit their quick movements.
After dealing with the enemies at the entrance, or simply bypassing them, go down two floors. Then, go through the doorway shown in the image. You’ll immediately see the Soul Spear when you land, but be prepared – it’s usually guarded. Take the spear, defeat any enemies, and then teleport to safety.
Crimson Desert Soul Spear Stats and Effects
- Attack: 27
- Special Effect: Launches souls to strike distant enemies upon defeating a target (10s cooldown).
In Crimson Desert, the Soul Spear is a powerful weapon you can obtain early in the game without spending any resources. Spears are already effective at damaging both single targets and groups of enemies, but the Soul Spear excels at area-of-effect (AoE) damage. When you defeat an enemy with it, the Soul Spear releases soul orbs. While these orbs have a 10-second cooldown after each use, they are incredibly helpful for quickly clearing out large groups of enemies, particularly those found in major strongholds.
The Soul Spear has one significant drawback: you can’t upgrade it, and it doesn’t support Abyss Gears. While it’s a solid weapon early on, it will eventually be surpassed by more powerful and customizable options. However, it’s a reliable choice for a good portion of the game – any weapon with 27 Attack will easily get you through the first six chapters of Crimson Desert’s story. Just be aware that enemies become much tougher once you reach central Demeniss, so you’ll need to consider replacing it then.
