A Brand-New FIFA Game Has Been Revealed, and You Will Get to Play It Completely Free of Charge

The new mobile soccer game, FIFA Heroes, just got its first trailer and will launch on April 28, 2026. Best of all, the game will be free to download and play!

Although FIFA Heroes is being fully revealed now, it was first announced in October 2025. This game will be the first official FIFA title released since the end of its partnership with EA Sports in October 2022. That partnership ended, reportedly, over disagreements about licensing costs. After the split, FIFA announced plans to collaborate with different game developers and publishers to create a wider range of soccer games, and FIFA Heroes is the first of these new projects.

The trailer opens like a movie, starting with a cartoon version of soccer legend Diego Maradona passing the ball to famous players. England’s Jack Grealish gets the ball, but is suddenly stopped by Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Thor then traps Grealish and his team in an electric dome, giving a sneak peek at the special superpower feature in FIFA Heroes. After a quick glimpse of regular soccer gameplay, the trailer ends by showing off the game’s characters. You’ll see real-world stars like Harry Kane, Lautaro Martínez, and Eduardo Camavinga alongside mythical figures like Zeus and Sun Wukong, plus some fun animal characters inspired by the FIFA World Cup 2026 mascots.

The new trailer for FIFA Heroes also gives us a sneak peek at a collaboration with Motorola. Motorola recently announced that players who enjoy FIFA Heroes on certain Motorola phones will receive free in-game rewards, including currency and characters. Plus, FIFA Heroes will be pre-loaded on some of Motorola’s latest phones, like the new Razr.

The new mobile game, FIFA Heroes, looks set to be a departure from previous FIFA titles. The reveal trailer suggests a move away from realistic visuals to a more cartoonish style, and gameplay will be more casual and arcade-like, featuring special abilities and superpowers during matches. The game is being developed by Enver, a studio previously known for VR titles like Shark Bait, Fros, Mutants, FormulaX, MotoX, and Scary Baboon.

While EA continues to develop its soccer franchise, now known as EA Sports FC, another officially licensed FIFA game is on the way. FIFA partnered with Netflix Games and Delphi Interactive last December to create a new game expected to launch this summer, potentially timed with the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Details about this Netflix game are still limited, but fans can also anticipate news about EA Sports FC 27 around the same time this summer.
