Rumor: Halo Campaign Evolved Early Access Release Date Leaked

Recent leaks suggest that Halo: Campaign Evolved could be released much earlier than expected. Players have been eagerly awaiting the full remake of the original Halo campaign since its announcement almost six months ago, and now it looks like they might be able to play it as soon as mid-summer.

The remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, titled Halo Campaign Evolved, was first shown at the Halo World Championships in late October 2025. Instead of focusing on multiplayer, this new version lets players experience the beloved story from the 2001 game with updated features. Fans are excited about the improvements, which include stunning 4K graphics, more voice acting and realistic character movements, a wider range of weapons, and three completely new missions.

Halo: Campaign Evolved Leaked Release Dates

I’m so hyped for Halo: Campaign Evolved! We still don’t have an official release date, but a usually pretty accurate Halo leaker, grunt.api, is saying the full game will be out on July 28th, with early access starting on July 23rd. They dropped the info in a really weird way on Twitter – basically, a bunch of math problems! Everyone had to work it out, but it seems like those dates are what the codes pointed to. Fingers crossed it’s true!

Although Xbox Game Studios and Halo Studios haven’t officially confirmed this information, it aligns with recent rumors suggesting the game’s release is coming soon. Just a week before this announcement, another Halo insider, RebsGaming, reported that the game is essentially finished in terms of content. Specifically, the entire campaign is currently playable, including three new prequel levels not featured in the original Halo: Combat Evolved. These levels will focus on Master Chief and Avery Johnson, offering players a look at the beginnings of the conflict with the Covenant.

Okay, so the new Halo: Campaign Evolved is supposedly coming out in July, which is a bit sooner than a lot of us expected. Honestly, it’s got some fans worried about whether the game will be fully polished when it drops. It’s being developed by Halo Studios – that’s the new name for 343 Industries – but I’m hearing that multiple teams are actually working on it. Apparently, Abstraction Games is helping out Halo Studios, and they’ve got a pretty solid track record. They co-developed Halo: The Master Chief Collection and have also worked on huge titles like Baldur’s Gate 3, Dune: Awakening, and the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, so maybe that’s a good sign!

A recent rumor about the game’s release date casts doubt on a popular fan theory. Some players believe a partnership between Xbox and Fanta – which will feature game imagery on its products and QR codes for in-game rewards – hints at a surprise release of Halo: Combat Evolved. They thought this might happen right after the Xbox Games Showcase in June. However, if the rumor about a five-day early access period is true, it would eliminate the possibility of a surprise launch.
