Gameloft and Old Skull Games have announced a new sports game called Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next!. It’s a fun crossover featuring 15 characters from different Nickelodeon shows. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S starting May 28, 2026, and will cost $29.99.
Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! is part of a growing trend of Nickelodeon games that bring together characters from different shows. This started with Nickelodeon Kart Racers in 2018, which has had three games so far. That racing series was followed by Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, a pair of fighting games released in 2021 and 2023. In between those, Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis came out on Apple Arcade in January 2022, but it was taken off the service after only a year.
Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! Launches on May 28, 2026
Three years after being taken off Apple Arcade, Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis is returning on new platforms as Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next!, launching on May 28th. Like the Apple Arcade version before it was removed, this game will let you play as 15 characters from popular Nickelodeon shows, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender, SpongeBob SquarePants, Rugrats, Garfield, Danny Phantom, and others. Each character has a special, unique ability inspired by their show.
Players can choose from 15 characters, and customize them with over 500 unlockable outfits and accessories—many inspired by popular Nickelodeon shows. Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! features three ways to play: a story mode for single players, a tournament mode against the computer, and a local split-screen mode for one-on-one matches against either the AI or another player.
Similar to the original version on Apple Arcade, Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! is being created by Old Skull Games, a developer mostly known for mobile games. Old Skull’s website shows they’ve made over 10 games, including titles like Cryptical Path, Master Chef: Let’s Cook!, Raid Heroes, Tiny Worlds: Dragon Idle Game, and the Amber’s Airline series. They’ve also previously made two other Nickelodeon games – SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit and its sequel – both of which were side-scrolling platformers available only on Apple Arcade.
