New Xbox Console Update Is Rolling Out Now

Microsoft has now released its newest update for all Xbox Series X/S owners, following a preview period for Xbox Insiders. While Xbox regularly updates its consoles, recent updates have been mostly small fixes and focused on PC and cloud gaming. This latest update, however, includes significant improvements to the Xbox Series X/S console experience, especially to how the interface looks and how players navigate it.

Xbox has faced some questions recently, but Microsoft is still focused on building enthusiasm for the brand. Next month will see the release of the highly anticipated game, Forza Horizon 6, and the new head of Xbox, Asha Sharma, has confirmed Microsoft’s ongoing dedication to Xbox consoles after the recent “this is an Xbox” campaign. The latest console update demonstrates that Microsoft is actively listening to player feedback and working to improve the overall Xbox experience.

Xbox’s Massive Console Update Rolls Out to All Users

Microsoft has released a new update for Xbox Series X/S consoles. It’s been available to Xbox Insiders for a month and is now reaching all players. The update lets you customize the guide’s color, create up to 10 groups (previously limited to two), and earn new profile badges for achievements. A key addition is the ability to turn off Quick Resume for individual games.

Xbox recently added a couple of useful features for its Insiders. Within the Cloud Gaming experience, players can now better monitor streaming quality using options like User Selected Resolution and a Network Quality Indicator, giving them more control over how games look and run. Also, a new Play History tab has been added to the My games & apps section, so players can easily see what they’ve played without going back to the Home screen.

The newest updates make gaming more convenient, particularly with the improved Xbox Quick Resume feature. While it’s great to be able to jump back into a paused game even after fully shutting down your console, some online games don’t work well with it. These games often lose their connection to online servers when the console is off, meaning you have to close them normally and the Quick Resume feature doesn’t really help. Thankfully, players can now easily turn off Quick Resume for specific games, letting them avoid these issues and play how they prefer.

The recent updates to Xbox consoles might be just the start of bigger changes. Microsoft has announced that Xbox achievements are getting an update with a fresh look, and players will soon be able to easily showcase games where they’ve unlocked all the achievements. Because Microsoft is actively responding to what players want, these dashboard improvements are likely the first of many exciting upgrades coming to the Xbox Series X/S.
