Horizon Play! is the multiplayer experience coming to Forza Horizon 6. Playground Games has now shared all the details about the modes and content players can enjoy when the game launches. With Forza Horizon 6‘s May 19 release date getting closer, the developers at Playground Games are gradually revealing what players can expect as they explore the Japanese landscapes.
Ever since the first trailer – and even from early leaks – fans knew Forza Horizon 6 would take place in Japan. Playground Games gave us glimpses of different Japanese landscapes earlier this year, showing off coasts, mountains, and plains. Last month, they finally unveiled the complete game map, which is massive and includes a wide variety of environments, from the bright city streets of Tokyo to winding country roads. It seems there’s something for every type of driver. The game’s multiplayer features have also just been fully detailed.

In addition to the ability to customize your experience, Horizon Play features both new and familiar game modes. Modes previously added after launch in Forza Horizon 5, such as Hide & Seek, are now available right away. You’ll also find classic modes like Horizon Racing and The Eliminator, a battle royale-style game where players race upgraded cars across a section of the map, with the last racer remaining winning as others are eliminated.
Forza Horizon 6 introduces several new ways to play, like Spec Racing and Touge Showdown. Spec Racing combines both on-road and off-road racing, but everyone uses the same car to ensure a fair competition. Touge Showdown is a head-to-head mode where players race on five different mountain courses, inspired by the game’s solo challenges.

Although Microsoft is rethinking its strategy with exclusive games and whether to release them on platforms like PlayStation, the next Forza Horizon game will still be available on multiple platforms. Given the strong sales of Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5, Microsoft likely wants to continue earning revenue from PlayStation players. However, Forza Horizon 6 won’t be launching on PS5 at the same time as the PC and Xbox Series X/S versions on May 19th; PlayStation 5 owners will have to wait before they can play the game.
