The anime series Jujutsu Kaisen is known for its excellent mentor characters, with Gojo Satoru being a prime example. After Gojo’s death, Yuji Itadori, who once contained the spirit of Sukuna, became the strongest sorcerer. It was recently revealed by the author, Gege Akutami, that Yuji spent years training other sorcerers and even took on an apprentice of his own.
I recently read Volume 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, and it officially revealed that Yuji Itadori actually trained a successor – alongside Aoi Todo! This student, Miyaguni, seems incredibly promising and is already stepping up as a leader for the next generation of sorcerers. They’re quickly becoming one of the most interesting characters in the new Modulo series, in my opinion.
Yuji Itadori’s Official Successor is Chiharu Miyaguni, According to Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 3
Yuji Itadori is the main character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. Fans eagerly awaited his return in the sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, which takes place 68 years after the battle against Sukuna. He does eventually reappear near the end of the series, but he’s older and has changed as a person. The loss of Gojo in the Shinjuku Showdown, along with watching his friends die as he aged, left him deeply saddened. Even though he felt this despair, Yuji continued to support the next generation of sorcerers, though he hesitated to directly confront Dabura.
Volume 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo showed that Yuji has had several successors throughout the years. So far, only one has been officially introduced and appeared in the Modulo series: Chiharu Miyaguni. While she may not be a familiar face to many fans – she’s only had a few short appearances in Modulo – she’s the blonde girl with pigtails who was present during the fight between Mahoraga and Dabura.
At first, people thought the character might be related to Yuji – perhaps his daughter or granddaughter, or at least connected to him somehow. However, the latest volume of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo reveals they aren’t blood relatives, but share a strong connection nonetheless.
How Gege Akutami Teased Yuji and Miyaguni’s Connection
Looking back, it’s clear there’s a connection between these two characters. In Chapter 19 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, when Yuji unleashed his blood attack on a building full of Simurians and sorcerers, he didn’t harm Miyaguni. Instead, she seemed annoyed with him, which suggests they have a close relationship.
What’s truly remarkable is that she’s learning from both Yuji and Aoi Todo – two incredibly powerful and well-known sorcerers. This dual training suggests she has great strength and a lot of potential, and it will be exciting to see how she develops it.

All Of Chiharu Miyaguni’s Powers and Abilities
The Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo story appeared briefly in Weekly Shonen Jump and can be read on Manga Plus. Because it was so short, many characters, particularly those with smaller roles, didn’t get much focus. As a result, Chiharu Miyaguni didn’t have a dedicated battle in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo.
Although we don’t know exactly how strong she is, the fact that powerful teachers chose her as their student proves she has incredible potential. Volume 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo confirms she possesses a unique Cursed Technique. However, the author, Gege Akutami, hasn’t shared any details about it. Unless future content reveals more about Modulo, her technique will remain unknown. We do know for certain that she is skilled in the New Shadow Style.
According to Gege Akutami in Modulo Volume 3, Miyaguni developed her skills by learning from Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo, who mentored her into becoming a highly skilled sorcerer. Now, she’s also taking on a teaching role, helping to train the next generation. Contrary to earlier beliefs, Miyaguni isn’t young – she’s in her 40s and brings a wealth of experience to her work.
In the extra content of Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 3, it’s revealed that Miyaguni trained Tsurugi Okkotsu after Maki Zenin’s death. She taught him the New Shadow Style Techniques, making him the first Heavenly Restriction user to learn them. This shows she’s incredibly skilled in the style. Fans hope Gege Akutami will explore Miyaguni’s abilities more in future chapters.
