Bandai Namco is now taking pre-registrations for their new mobile game, Digimon Up. If you sign up now, you can get some free in-game items! Digimon Up, launching in 2026, lets you become a Digimon Tamer – hatch Digimon from eggs, train them, and help them grow into powerful Mega forms.
Digimon Up, revealed at the Digimon Con 2026 global event last March, is a new game where you team up with and strengthen a Digimon partner, represented as a classic 2D sprite. Screenshots on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store show players selecting their favorite Digimon, such as Agumon or Gabumon, and improving their skills through a skill tree. Battles take place using a card-based system to control your Digimon’s moves against other players.
Digimon Up Reveals Free Pre-Registration Rewards
Although we don’t know when Digimon Up will officially launch, pre-registration is now open on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store! As an added bonus, Digimon Up is offering free in-game rewards as they reach different pre-registration milestones. It’s unclear if these rewards will only be available for a limited time. They’ve already hit their first goal of 10,000 pre-registrations, which means everyone who downloads the game will receive 150 Skill Card Summon Tickets. Here’s a full list of the rewards you can earn:
- 10,000 goal: 150 Skill Card Summon Tickets
- 30,000 goal: 150 Supporter Summon Tickets
- 50,000 goal: 1,000 DigiEmeralds
- 100,000 goal: Free Gekkomon

During pre-registration, Digimon Up has begun showcasing pixel art of playable Digimon like MetalGarurumon and MetalGreymon. With over 30,000 followers already across its Twitter and Facebook pages, the game is on track to meet – and possibly exceed – its pre-registration goals in the coming months. This is a common trend for free-to-play mobile games; for example, Silent Whispers gained over a million sign-ups shortly after it was announced.
Bandai Namco is continuing to expand the Digimon universe with new games and entertainment. The launch of Digimon Up is coming soon, and Digimon Story: Time Stranger released in 2025 to great success. They’re also working on Digimon Alysion, a free-to-play card game for mobile devices. Beyond gaming, the Digimon Beatbreak animated series has become a hit with fans worldwide, demonstrating the enduring popularity of this franchise that began in 1997.

It remains to be seen whether Digimon Up will satisfy players looking for a free-to-play mobile game. For now, fans need to wait for more details about how the game works and which Digimon will be playable. Other franchises have successfully used the monster-battling format in different ways – Pokemon Unite is a team-based arena game, while Persona 5: The Phantom X focuses on a strong narrative. Digimon Up has a good opportunity to highlight the bond between Tamers and their Digimon, letting players actively care for their team and experience a new story within the Digimon universe.
