The main questline in Totenreich isn’t the only place to find hidden surprises. There are several Easter Eggs to discover, and one of them lets you fish for treasure! If you’re lucky, you can snag a cool and helpful Viking helmet called the Golden Tide Helmet. Here’s how to get it and what it does.
This guide explains how to get the Golden Tide Helmet. You’ll not only look great while playing with others, but you’ll also increase your chances of finding better rewards while fishing – even with zombies trying to attack!
How to Get the Golden Tide Helmet in Totenreich
To get the Golden Tide Helmet, you’ll first need a fishing rod. You can find these in barrels all over the map – we found one on Fishery Island. Once you have it, use the fishing rod at all 11 fishing spots. We have a guide above that shows you exactly where they are.
While fishing, there’s a rare chance you’ll reel in a boot that turns into Olaf, Cranker of Cod – a special zombie wearing a Viking helmet. If you defeat Olaf, you can take his helmet and equip the Golden Tide Helmet yourself. We were able to make Olaf appear at Fishery Island after fishing six times.
If you get the Golden Tide Helmet, don’t save your game or quit. If you do, you’ll lose the helmet and have to find it again.
What Does the Golden Tide Helmet Do in Totenreich?
The Golden Tide Helmet helps you catch better items while fishing. We’ve had a lot of success using it in Totenreich, finding things like Scorestreaks and Power-Ups. With a bit of luck, you might even reel in something incredibly rare that we haven’t discovered yet!
The Golden Tide Helmet is a great item to get, because fishing is an easy thing to do each round. It lets you get free items that will help you progress to later rounds, so it’s definitely worth picking up.
