It’s May 2026, and that means a month-long celebration of Star Wars! The beloved franchise is marking its 49th anniversary and getting ready for its big 50th in 2027.
To get fans excited for Star Wars Day on May 4th, new Star Wars collectibles have been revealed, mainly focusing on Black Series action figures inspired by the game Star Wars: The Old Republic and other parts of the Star Wars galaxy.
Although Lucasfilm will likely share updates on current and upcoming Star Wars projects on May the 4th, fans don’t have to wait for the official event to enjoy the celebration. There are plenty of ways to celebrate Star Wars Day 2026 and continue the fun leading up to future events in 2027.
Here are ten Star Wars video games that fans should check out in 2026. These games are recommended because of how they connect to recent and upcoming Star Wars content – including shows, movies, books, and other games – and because 2026 marks the franchise’s 50th anniversary.
10. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Revisiting All Nine Mainline Star Wars Films

With the 50th anniversary of Star Wars just around the corner and The Mandalorian and Grogu returning to cinemas later this month after a seven-year hiatus, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a great way for fans to experience the galaxy far, far away and get ready for the new releases.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the sixth major game in the LEGO Star Wars series, created by Traveller’s Tales. It lets players experience all nine Star Wars movies as funny, blocky LEGO adventures, either by themselves or with a friend in local co-op.
Similar to previous LEGO Star Wars games, The Skywalker Saga focuses on simple third-person shooting, hand-to-hand combat, puzzles, and occasional space battles. However, this new installment also introduces exciting features like expansive open-world planets and enjoyable side quests.
One of the coolest things about The Skywalker Saga is the sheer number of characters you can play! They’ve got almost 400, pulling from all over the Star Wars galaxy. It’s not just the main heroes and villains either – you can even play as some of the more obscure characters like Biggs Darklighter, and if you get the DLC, characters from the Star Wars shows like Hunter from The Bad Batch are available too!
9. Star Wars Battlefront II
Reenacting the Galaxy’s Greatest Battles
While The Skywalker Saga lets you experience the stories from all nine films, you don’t always get to directly play through every famous battle. Some exciting moments, like the spaceship fight during the Battle of Endor, are shown as cutscenes instead of being playable.
For fans who want to experience epic Star Wars battles, either playing with friends against the computer or in player-versus-player combat, 2017’s Star Wars Battlefront II is the game to play. It lets you fight as soldiers and iconic heroes from different sides of the conflict, choosing to play in either first- or third-person.
Unlike the first Star Wars Battlefront, Battlefront II includes a single-player story mode, taking place after the Battle of Endor. However, the game truly shines with its multiplayer, where players can battle each other on the ground and in space across 26 diverse locations, from the planet Naboo to the mineral planet Crait.
As a gamer, I’m loving that I can choose to play as so many different characters – everything from Battle Droids and Clone Troopers to Stormtroopers and more. Plus, you can jump in as the big-name heroes and villains! It leads to seriously epic and chaotic battles. I’ve already had a match where Count Dooku and First Order Stormtroopers were going head-to-head with Anakin Skywalker and the Resistance on Takodana – it was insane!
8. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Preparing for the KOTOR Remake
It’s currently unclear what Lucasfilm will reveal on Star Wars Day, but they might share updates about the upcoming remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. This is especially likely considering the recent announcement of new figures for Mission Vao and Carth Onasi.
Even if we don’t hear any updates on the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake soon, Saber Interactive is still reportedly working on it. In the meantime, both longtime and new Star Wars fans should consider playing the original, critically acclaimed RPG by BioWare.
Set around 4,000 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, KOTOR puts you in the role of a character who has lost their memory. You’ll experience the Jedi Civil War, a massive galactic conflict led by Darth Revan and Darth Malak, two former Jedi who have turned to the dark side and are fighting against the Republic and the Jedi Order.
While the story of Knights of the Old Republic is now considered part of the Legends continuity and not current canon, it remains a fantastic game with a compelling story, rich universe, and memorable characters. It even includes a major plot twist that continues to surprise players even today.
7. Star Wars: Squadrons
Living the Starfighter Life
As a huge Star Wars fan, I’m so excited it’s coming back to the big screen! The Mandalorian and Grogu will be in theaters starting May 22nd, which is awesome. But get this – there’s another live-action Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Starfighter, planned for late May 2027, and it’s a completely new story not tied to anything we’ve seen before! It’s great to know there’s so much more Star Wars on the way.
We don’t know much about the story of Starfighter yet, but it will center around a pilot. If you’re a Star Wars fan interested in what it’s like to fly a starfighter, you should try Motive Studio’s Star Wars: Squadrons, a first-person space combat game.
Okay, so I’ve been playing Star Wars: Squadrons, and it’s awesome! You get to fly as a starfighter pilot for either the New Republic or what’s left of the Empire, set after the Battle of Endor. Basically, the New Republic is trying to build up its fleet with new battleships, and the Empire is doing everything they can to stop them. You can play on PC, consoles, or even in VR – it’s super immersive!
The campaign in Squadrons is on the shorter side, but the game offers incredibly immersive gameplay, both in the campaign and in multiplayer. It’s a dream come true for players who’ve always wanted to pilot iconic starfighters like X-Wings, Y-Wings, TIE Fighters, and more.
6. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
The Beginning of Sam Witwer’s SW Career
In 2026, fans celebrating Star Wars Day will finally get to see the last two episodes of the first season of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, the newest Star Wars series. This project again features Sam Witwer, a long-time voice actor in the Star Wars universe, in a major role.
For those who enjoyed Witwer’s work on the show and are curious about the origins of his Star Wars career—and his history with Darth Maul—they should definitely play Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a fantastic action game.
Set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed puts you in the role of Starkiller, Darth Vader’s hidden apprentice. He’s sent on a mission to destroy both remaining Jedi and Imperial enemies, all to cover up his master’s tracks and keep his existence a secret.
Playing Force Unleashed is a blast, letting you use Starkiller’s Force powers to send groups of Stormtroopers flying. The lightsaber battles are key to defeating tough bosses, including Rancors, Jedi, and even elite Shadow Guards.
5. Star Wars Outlaws
Delving into Star Wars’ Criminal Underworld
The story of Maul – Shadow Lord heavily focuses on the criminal side of the Star Wars universe, showing Maul dealing with members of his Shadow Collective, like the Pyke Syndicate, Crimson Dawn, and various planetary gangs. For anyone interested in exploring the Star Wars underworld further, Star Wars Outlaws is a great place to start.
I’m so excited about Star Wars Outlaws! It takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and you play as Kay Vess, a young woman trying to become a big deal in the criminal world. It’s a single-player, open-world adventure where you get to explore and really build a life as an outlaw. It sounds amazing!
Unlike most Star Wars games, Outlaws focuses on blaster combat, cunning, and stealth instead of lightsabers or Force powers. Players, as Vess, will need to use her skills, along with the help of her companion Nix, to survive challenges like illegal gambling, robberies, spying, and shootouts.
A standout feature of Outlaws is how it handles relationships with criminal groups like the Pyke Syndicate, Hutt Cartel, Crimson Dawn, and the Ashiga Clan. You play as Vess, and your choices affect your standing with each group. Building a good reputation unlocks rewards, while damaging it can limit your options.
4. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
The Best Mandalorian Game So Far
Even though The Mandalorian is one of Disney’s most popular and well-received Star Wars projects, surprisingly no dedicated video game has been created based on the show. Din Djarin and Grogu have only had small roles in games like Fortnite and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
Look, I’ve played a lot of Star Wars games, and while you can control characters like Boba Fett in some of them, nothing really captures the feel of being a Mandalorian quite like Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. It’s a single-player, third-person game, and honestly, it’s the most immersive experience out there if you want to live that life.
Taking place between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter lets players experience the galaxy through the eyes of Jango Fett. As the renowned bounty hunter, you’ll track down targets and eventually accept a mission to take down the dangerous Bando Gora crime syndicate and its powerful, Force-sensitive leader, Komari Vosa.
The Bounty Hunter game lets players experience the thrill of flying with Fett’s jetpack and using classic Mandalorian weapons like flamethrowers and whipcords. However, it shares a lot of similarities with The Mandalorian and Grogu movie, starting with Fett battling massive creatures in an arena and eventually facing off against Gardulla the Hutt.
3. Star Wars Zero Company
Black Ops in The Clones Wars
Two new Star Wars games are expected to be released later this year, and one of the most exciting is Star Wars Zero Company. It’s a single-player game where you make strategic, turn-based decisions, much like the popular XCOM series.

The new game, set during the Clone Wars, centers around Zero Company, a secret Republic unit. The team – made up of ex-officer Hawks, Clone Trooper Trick, Jedi Padawan Tel-Rea Vokoss, Mandalorian bounty hunter Cly Kullervo, and former Separatist sniper Luco Bronc – is tasked with destroying the dangerous Infinite Coil cult.
Players can experience the game as the main story characters, or they can create and personalize their own recruits for Zero Company. These custom characters can be specialized—like support Astromechs or Devaronian gunslingers—and their relationships will evolve based on your choices, potentially leading to strong bonds or even permanent loss.
When not on missions, players can build and personalize their own headquarters, known as the Den, and send out spies throughout the galaxy to gather intelligence and gain an advantage in battles for Zero Company.
2. Star Wars: Galactic Racer
The Grand Return of Podracing
While we don’t have a specific release date for Star Wars Zero Company yet, it’s still expected to come out later this year. Good news for fans, though – Star Wars: Galactic Racer is confirmed to launch on Tuesday, October 6th.
After a 20-year gap since Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Galactic Racer brings back high-speed racing to the galaxy. Players can race in either first or third-person view, and the game is set after the Battle of Endor, focusing on the emergence of illegal races organized by a new group called the Galactic League.
In Galactic Racer, you can experience a story-driven single-player campaign as Shade, a lone racer seeking both revenge and fame across five different planets – Ando Prime, Tatooine, Lantaana, Sentinel I, and Jakku. The game also offers competitive multiplayer, letting up to 12 players race against each other in ranked and unranked matches.
Honestly, what I love most about Galactic Racer is the speeders! You can pick from a ton of different types – podracers, land speeders, speeder bikes, and these new skim speeders are awesome. And it’s not just about picking one, you can really customize them to your liking. Plus, the races feel so much more intense because your speeder can actually take damage and even get wrecked! But don’t worry, you can repair and upgrade them between races, which is a huge relief and keeps you coming back for more.
1. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Preparing for the End of Cal Kestis’ Story
While Star Wars Zero Company and Star Wars: Galactic Racer offer fresh takes on the Star Wars universe with different game styles, the Star Wars game fans shouldn’t miss this year is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developed by Respawn Entertainment.
In the single-player game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, players take on the role of Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan, five years after the devastating Order 66. When Cal is forced to reveal he’s a Jedi to protect a friend, he becomes a target of the Empire’s Inquisitors. He then joins forces with Jedi Master Cere Junda, another survivor of Order 66, to try and rebuild the Jedi Order.
If you thought the battles with the First and Eleventh Brothers in Maul — Shadow Lord were thrilling, prepare yourself for something even more intense in Fallen Order. Cal Kestis will face relentless attacks from the formidable Second and Ninth Sisters, as well as hordes of deadly Purge Troopers specifically designed to hunt down any remaining Jedi.
Many fans consider Fallen Order the best Star Wars game Disney has released, and its sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, improved upon it in almost every aspect. There’s a strong possibility we’ll hear an official announcement about a third Jedi game soon, with some reports suggesting it could be released as early as next year – development on the project reportedly began in 2023.
