I recently watched Trese, an anime set in Manila, and it was really interesting. It follows Alexandra Trese, who basically acts as a detective dealing with supernatural crimes and protecting people from otherworldly creatures. Each of the six episodes focuses on a different case, and at first, it felt like a collection of separate stories. But as I kept watching, things started connecting, and the bigger picture began to emerge, making the earlier episodes much more meaningful.

Devilman: Crybaby is an anime that’s surprisingly more frightening when it comes to human behavior than demonic actions. Featuring a beautiful soundtrack, deep emotional storytelling, incredible animation, and thrilling fight scenes, it’s a must-watch. It’s visually stunning and offers a thought-provoking story that will stay with you long after you finish it.
The story follows Akira Fudo, a kind and strong-willed boy who rarely shows sadness. His life changes when a friend introduces him to the world of demons and takes him to a place where they possess people. A demon attempts to take control of Akira, but his determination prevents it. Instead, he transforms into a half-demon, gaining the power to fight demons and safeguard humanity.
Blood of Zeus
One of the biggest reasons to watch Blood of Zeus is its impressive animation, created by Powerhouse Animation Studios. Beyond that, the show features a gripping story focused on its characters, a thoughtful take on Greek mythology, and plenty of exciting action. The gods aren’t portrayed as perfect beings – they feel much more relatable. Zeus had an affair with a human woman, and their son was Heron. When Zeus’s wife, Hera, discovered the betrayal, she vowed revenge on all of humanity. She launched her plan with the help of her son, Seraphim. At first, Heron was bewildered by the war, but after losing everything he cared about and understanding it wasn’t a senseless attack, he stepped up to fight and end the devastation.
Romantic Killer
As the title suggests, “Romantic Killer” isn’t your typical romance anime. Instead of focusing on love, it centers on friendships, respecting personal limits, and challenging societal norms. The show playfully pokes fun at common romance tropes while delivering genuinely funny moments with exaggerated reactions and quirky characters.
The story centers around Anzu Hoshino, who has no interest in romance – she’s far too busy enjoying chocolates, video games, and her cat! Her life gets shaken up when a wizard named Riri appears and tries to make her fall in love. Anzu reluctantly goes along with it, but only to sabotage Riri’s efforts and prove that love isn’t for her, determined to outsmart the wizard at their own game.
Super Crooks
If you’re tired of typical superhero stories, Super Crooks offers something different – it focuses on the criminals instead of the heroes. It’s a heist story that unfolds gradually, but it’s worth the wait. Plus, the characters, despite their flaws, are compelling and grow on you as the story progresses.
I’m really into this story! It’s about a guy named Johnny Bolt, a small-time crook who just wasn’t very good at crime – he kept getting caught! He always struggled to make ends meet, so things get interesting when he meets a woman and together they come up with a wild plan: hiring eight supervillains to help them pull off the ultimate heist. It’s a fantastic setup!
Ōoku: The Inner Chambers
I recently watched Ōoku: The Inner Chambers, and what really struck me was how closely it followed the original manga – it’s a remarkably faithful adaptation. The story takes place in a reimagined Edo-era Japan, and honestly, it’s one of the most compelling stories I’ve seen in a long time. It really digs into gender roles and relationships in a way that’s rare for anime, and it genuinely made me think differently about things I’d always believed.
This story takes place in Japan during the Edo period, under the leadership of the third Tokugawa shogun. When a boy is attacked by a bear, a mysterious illness sweeps through the region, drastically reducing the number of men. As a result, women must take on the responsibilities and roles traditionally held by men within the government and society.
Delicious in Dungeon
If you love anime, don’t miss Delicious in Dungeon. It’s a surprisingly good show with a fun, lighthearted sense of humor and a really interesting premise. The beginning is a bit slow, but it builds into something truly rewarding. What makes it special is that every detail and event serves a purpose, adding to the overall intrigue and making it a captivating watch.
Delicious in Dungeon follows a group of adventurers on a dangerous quest to save their friend from a dragon deep within a dungeon. Facing a lack of supplies and time, the team relies on the cooking skills of one of their members. They cleverly use the dungeon’s resources – even the monsters themselves – to stay alive and continue their journey.
