How to Find the Secret Garden Key in Blue Prince

The Billiard Room

The Secret Garden key appears randomly throughout the game, but you have a better chance of finding it in certain areas. For example, in the Billiard Room, there’s a dartboard with a puzzle. Solving the puzzle causes the dartboard to move, revealing keys hidden behind it. While the keys are random, the Secret Garden key is among those that can appear.

The Music Room

The Music Room is another potential source of keys. It becomes available at Rank 8 or 9, and each time you add it to your estate, it generates one regular Key and one Special Key. This boosts your odds of finding the key to the Secret Garden.

The Locksmith

You can also construct the Locksmith Room, where you can purchase various keys. A Special Key costs 8 coins and might be the key to the Secret Garden. However, you receive a random Special Key, so you may need to buy several to get the one you need.

Dirt Piles in Green Rooms

Don’t forget to check common item spots beyond individual rooms – the key might appear there. Look for locked chests, especially, as they sometimes contain the Secret Garden key. You can also dig up dirt piles in the Green Rooms with a shovel for a chance to find it.

In addition to having the Secret Garden Key, you also need to have the right layout:

  • On either the far left column or the far right column, have a door in any room that needs to be unlocked, staying out of the corner and within the same column.
  • Once you have a locked door on either side, you can unlock it using the key, and instead of drafting a blueprint, you will automatically have the Secret Garden.

The Secret Garden Has a Few Highly Notable Features

The Secret Garden produces fruit all over the map, helping you gain steps frequently. Its biggest advantage, however, is the lever it contains, which unlocks the Antechamber.

Inside the Secret Garden, look for a weather vane on the fountain. Adjust the controls so all the arrows point towards the moon statue, and a hidden lever will appear. Pulling this lever unlocks the door on the left side of the Antechamber.
