44. Fallout: New Vegas
- Platforms: PC, PS3, Xbox 360
- Year: 2010
- Developer: Obsidian Entertainment
- Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
As a huge Fallout fan, I was so excited when Bethesda reinvented the series with Fallout 3. They took that classic post-apocalyptic world and turned it into a first or third-person shooter, which was a game changer! Then, Obsidian came along and built on that with Fallout: New Vegas. It still had that same great gameplay from Fallout 3, but honestly, the writing and quests in New Vegas were some of the best I’ve ever seen in a Fallout game.
43. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Platforms: PS5, PC
- Year: 2023
- Developer: Insomniac Games
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 builds upon the foundation of the 2018 game, and that’s a good thing! It really showcases the power of the PlayStation 5 with a stunningly detailed New York City and incredibly fun web-swinging. However, the most impressive part is the story, which is arguably one of the best Spider-Man narratives ever told.
42. Batman: Arkham Asylum
- Platforms: PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Switch
- Year: 2009
- Developer: Rocksteady Games
- Publisher: Eidos Interactive/Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
As a huge Batman fan, I remember when Batman: Arkham Asylum came out and it totally blew me away. It really took a lot of inspiration from the classic Batman: The Animated Series, and at the time, it felt like the definitive Batman game. You play as Batman investigating the infamous Arkham Asylum, trying to stop the Joker’s latest scheme, and you’ll run into pretty much all of his most iconic enemies along the way. Everyone says it makes you feel like Batman while you’re playing, and honestly, it’s completely true!
41. Resident Evil 2 (2019)
- Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, Mobile
- Year: 2019
- Developer: Capcom
- Publisher: Capcom
Capcom’s remake of Resident Evil 2 was a remarkable achievement, improving upon a beloved and iconic survival-horror game. The remake revitalized Leon and Claire’s terrifying experience in Raccoon City with stunning new graphics and a camera perspective similar to Resident Evil 4. Its popularity sparked a wave of video game remakes, and Capcom continued this trend by releasing updated versions of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and Resident Evil 4.
