I’ve been watching Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, and it’s amazing to see how quickly he’s become stronger. It all started around episode 2 when he officially gained the power of the System. But the real turning point, for me, was episode 12 of the first season. That’s when he learned to summon shadows of those who had fallen, and it completely changed things. Now he’s building his own Shadow Army, and it just keeps getting bigger and more impressive with each new episode.
Fans of Solo Leveling are excited for Season 3 and can’t wait to see the main character, Sung Jinwoo, continue to grow in power as the Shadow Monarch. The new season promises new and impressive shadows, particularly within the Ahjin Guild Arc and the International Guild Conference Arc. These additions are expected to be a highlight for viewers.
Ahjin Guild Arc Will Officially Introduce The New Shadow Jima In Solo Leveling Season 3
I watched as Season 2 of Solo Leveling wrapped up in March 2025 with the Jeju Island arc, which a lot of fans, myself included, thought was a high point of the series. It was incredible seeing Sung Jinwoo become the strongest in South Korea, powerful enough to take down the Ant King – and then, unbelievably, to turn it into one of his shadows, naming it Beru! After that, Jinwoo’s popularity just exploded, and it’s set the stage for an even more impressive evolution in Season 3.
Arise. — Sung Jinwoo raising Shadows.
The arc immediately following the end of Solo Leveling Season 2 is the Recruitment arc, but it won’t introduce any brand new shadows for Jinwoo. The next arc, focusing on the Ahjin Guild (chapters 111-122 of the webtoon), is where Jinwoo will acquire his first new shadow since Beru. In this arc, he’ll easily defeat the Boss Naga and then recruit its shadow, naming it Jima. While Jima is a new addition to Jinwoo’s forces, many fans don’t consider it one of his most impressive shadows. However, Jima is a dependable ally, initially serving as an Elite Knight Grade Shadow.
All Powers And Abilities Of Jima
Since Jima was created from the boss monster Naga, it naturally has the form of a massive serpent. He’s also equipped with incredibly sharp claws, making him a formidable fighter. When Sung Jinwoo first obtains Jima, he isn’t very powerful and couldn’t compete with top-level Hunters. However, like all Shadows, Jima will grow stronger as Sung Jinwoo develops his own abilities, and is expected to become an extremely powerful ally.
Jima is exceptionally strong, and that’s his primary weapon. He’s powerful enough to defeat even giants with a single blow, a feat rare even among the strongest S-Rank individuals in the world of Solo Leveling. He also possesses regeneration abilities, adding another layer to his fighting style. While his overall skillset isn’t groundbreaking, which is why he isn’t a particularly famous Shadow, fans are sure to enjoy seeing his abilities in action in Solo Leveling Season 3.

Sung Jinwoo’s Next Shadow After Jima Could Come In Season 4
It’s currently unknown how much of the Solo Leveling story Season 3 will cover. We can likely expect to see the Recruitment, Ajin Guild, and Double Dungeon arcs adapted, and possibly the Japan Crisis arc as well. Because there won’t be much story left after these arcs, it’s probable that Jinwoo’s next major power-up will appear in Season 4 of the anime, which is still a long way off.
I’ve been following Solo Leveling, and I’m anticipating Sung Jinwoo gaining a new shadow called ‘Greed’ after his fight with Jima. This happens during the International Guild Conference arc, specifically chapters 140 through 149 in the webtoon. From what I understand, Greed is going to be significantly more powerful than Jima, and its origins are going to be a big reveal for fans. It seems like Greed will be a major highlight of Season 4, or whatever comes next in the story, thanks to its incredible abilities.
How Jinwoo Will Acquire Greed
Okay, so in the latest chapter of the manhwa, chapter 147, Jinwoo finally got his hands on Greed! It’s so cool because Greed’s actually connected to Hwang Dongsoo, a character we’ve seen before in the first two seasons of the anime. He’s the older brother of Hwang Dongsuk, the guy Jinwoo took down earlier. Apparently, Dongsoo already had a run-in with Sung Il-Hwan and lost badly, and was even told to stay away from Jinwoo and his crew. But, predictably, he doesn’t seem to be paying any attention to that warning! I’m really excited to see what happens next.
“Approach my family, and I’ll kill you.” — Sung Il-Hwan to Hwang Dongsoo
Hwang Dongsoo fights Sung Jinwoo but is defeated. As a result, he becomes one of Jinwoo’s shadows, forced to serve the man he once tried to harm. This feels like a fitting punishment for his actions.
Fans won’t be seeing this character’s unique abilities in the Solo Leveling anime for a while. While there’s a tiny possibility he might appear in Season 3, it’s unlikely. Whenever he is revealed, it’s sure to be a captivating moment that fans are really looking forward to.
