The sci-fi anime series 86: Eighty Six, produced by A-1 Pictures, finished its first season in 2022. Though it didn’t achieve the same widespread popularity as shows like Jujutsu Kaisen or Solo Leveling, it was a critically and fan-acclaimed series known for its compelling story and impressive animation. Despite the positive reception, a second season has never been released, and there hasn’t been any official word on whether the show has been cancelled.
I’m really hoping we get more 86: Eighty-Six! There’s been talk about a potential second season coming in 2026 or 2027, but nothing’s been officially confirmed yet. Honestly, I think 86 is a seriously underrated gem, and people are still discovering how amazing it is. It’s just incredibly frustrating that Crunchyroll removed it from their streaming service – it felt like they were taking away a chance for even more people to fall in love with the show!

This is especially strange because Crunchyroll is heavily promoting another anime from the same studio, A-1 Pictures, called Solo Leveling.

Without an official explanation from Crunchyroll, it’s difficult to know what’s happening or what to expect, and it’s possible we won’t get one.
