The long-awaited collaboration between Alan Wake and Phasmophobia is here, making the already spooky ghost-hunting game even more intense! On certain maps, you’ll now encounter shadowy ghosts that can only be defeated using the Angel Lamp, which is available at the start of the investigation in the truck.
The Angel Lamp won’t protect you from ghosts while investigating in Phasmophobia, but it’s a key item for the Alan Wake event. Here’s what you need to know about what it does and how to get it.
The difficulty that you play on does not impact the amount of Alan Wake Event Points you earn.
How to Get & Use the Angel Lamp in Phasmophobia
Once you start a map with the Angel Lamp in your van, it will always be there. Currently, there are only four maps available as part of the Alan Wake event, and they are:
- Coffee World (Camp Woodwind)
- Oh Deer Diner (Nell’s Diner)
- Elderwood Palace Lodge (Bleasdale Farmhouse)
- Cauldron Lake (Grafton Farmhouse)
You can pick up the Angel Lamp like any other object in the game. To activate it, hold down the Right Mouse Button on a PC, or the A/X button on Xbox or PlayStation. But remember, the Angel Lamp isn’t meant to be used as a simple flashlight for exploring dark places…
The Angel Lamp is used to eliminate the shadow ghosts that appear on the map. These ghosts appear when the match begins, and their starting locations change each time you play, so you won’t encounter them in the same spots repeatedly.
It’s hard to see in the dark without a flashlight, but you can locate shadowy figures by listening for their unique whispering sounds—don’t mistake them for other spooky noises. Once you find one, just point at it and press the Use button; it will start to glow and then explode.
Destroying each Shadow Ghost with the Angel Lamp gives you +2 Alan Wake Event Points when you go back to the lobby. Don’t worry about the difficulty level or making mistakes – you’ll still earn those points even if you defeat the wrong ghost or get defeated yourself.
