His plan to control the Soul Society and build a world reflecting his ideals was both clever and unexpected, catching many viewers off guard. The climactic battle between Aizen and Ichigo was powerfully moving and spectacular, ending with a sacrifice that dramatically altered the story’s course.

Right after a very intense battle, the show aired a standalone episode – episode 311 – that didn’t advance the main story. This episode featured Kon taking on a superhero identity and teaming up with others to defend their town. It was a lighthearted adventure that felt tonally jarring after the emotional weight of Ichigo’s fight.
