Someone incredibly powerful doesn’t need to announce themselves. In Mission: Yozakura Family, that person is Momo Yozakura, and he’s so strong he doesn’t even need a door to enter. According to Doctor Kawashita, Momo might not even be human.

The Kawashita Interrogation Arc has moved the story forward, promising a deeper exploration into the Yozakura family’s mysterious and potentially dark history. What Happened in Episode 6: Momo Yozakura the Family Guy
“Family get-togethers are so much fun. How fun they are!” – Momo Yozakura
Taiyo was thrilled to finally use his Silver Rank license, and eagerly went to see Doctor Kawashita. Confident he was about to play a part in some exciting events for the Mission: Yozakura Family story, he reassured Futaba and his siblings that everything would be fine. However, Momo Yozakura had other plans for how Taiyo would spend his day.
The moment Momo appears, Episode 6 explodes into a thrilling battle between the father and his children, shifting the focus of Season 2 towards exciting action reminiscent of classic shonen anime. Following this intense clash of powerful abilities in Mission: Yozakura Family, the Kawashita Interrogation Arc concludes with heartfelt reflections and hints at a looming, more sinister development.
What Awaits in Episode 7: The Yozakura Roots Arc Begins
The closing moments of Episode 6 revealed the title of the next episode, “At the Old Yozakura Residence,” giving us a clear idea of what’s coming in Season 2. Episode 7 will begin the “Yozakura Roots Arc,” which is based on Chapter 106 of Volume 13 from the complete Mission: Yozakura Family manga by Hitsuji Gondaira.
As the manga approaches chapter 106, it transitions into a new story arc, starting with chapter 103. In this chapter, the Yozakura siblings join forces with Taiyo to manage the Profuse Blooming situation. The upcoming episode might include scenes from this chapter, which is full of funny moments.
Down the Family Rabbit Hole: At the Old Yozakura Residence
Following the clues from Momo Yozakura’s Someinine – as introduced in Chapter 106 – Taiyo and the Yozakura siblings head to Ninomae Manor. This abandoned estate once belonged to Lady Ninomae Yozakura, the second leader of the Yozakura clan.
I’ve been watching Momo, and honestly, his take on fatherhood is quickly making him one of the worst dads in anime. This has really motivated Taiyo, Shion, Futaba, and Shinzo to try and figure out what he’s been up to. I don’t want to give too much away about what happens in Episode 7, but let’s just say Lady Ninomae is still firmly in control of her home, and she makes that very clear in Chapter 107.
Chapters 106 and 107 are closely connected, so they’ll likely be the focus of Episode 7. Based on the manga’s details about Lady Ninomae’s current power level, we can expect another exciting and fast-paced battle in this episode.
Quite Some Room for Lovely Slice-of-Life To Bloom
I absolutely loved how Volumes 12 and 13 took a breather after all the action! Chapters 104 and 105 were just a fun peek into everyday life – Shion giving a somewhat unwilling lesson in computer repair, and Mutsumi starting her diet journey. Then, in Volume 13, Chapters 108 and 109 were pure gold! It was so relaxing to see the family going through old stuff, and Kengo’s struggles with skincare were seriously hilarious. It was a perfect, cozy way to wrap things up!
Blending everyday life with action and adventure, Mission: Yozakura Family successfully appeals to a wide range of anime fans. Unfortunately, the second season had to leave out some content from the original manga. However, Episode 7 might still include some lighter, more relaxed scenes to provide a break from the main storyline’s intense action.
How Episode 7 Shapes the Rest of Season 2
Even though Mission: Yozakura Family takes risks with its storytelling structure, it manages to maintain a consistent and understandable theme. This sets the anime up for success as a fast-paced and exciting show. However, it’s probably safe to assume that Episode 7 won’t be able to cover the entire ‘Yozakura Roots Arc’ in a single installment.
I’ve been following the manga, and this story arc – the Yozakura Roots Arc – is really captivating. It’s full of exciting moments and takes place across a huge stretch of the series, all the way up to Chapter 110 in Volume 13. Because it’s so involved and has a good mix of action and everyday life, trying to cram it all into just one episode, Episode 7, wouldn’t do it justice. It deserves a more careful approach.
The speed at which Episode 7 moved will likely determine how well the rest of Season 2 flows. Hopefully, the fast pace of recent episodes is a sign of things to come, and not just a temporary burst before the story settles into a slower rhythm.
