While June isn’t packed with new releases for the Nintendo Switch 2, there are still three major games coming out that players can enjoy. June 2026 will be the one-year anniversary of the Switch 2’s launch, and Nintendo has made a strong impression with its new console. It debuted with Mario Kart World and has since seen popular exclusive titles like Donkey Kong Bananza (nominated for Game of the Year) and the incredibly successful Pokemon Pokopia.
Okay, so my Switch 2 has been awesome, and it’s cool to see almost 20 million other people grabbed one too! Nintendo’s done a great job with the games so far, but they need to keep those big releases coming. June isn’t looking super packed, honestly, but there are still a couple of titles I’m really excited about that should keep everyone playing.

In June 2026, the Switch 2 will get three exciting new games. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth arrives on June 3rd, followed by The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales on June 18th. Rounding out the month, a remake of Star Fox will be released on June 25th.

Square Enix’s latest game is The Adventures of Elliot. It features the beautiful HD-2D art style fans will recognize from games like Octopath Traveler, but with fast-paced action-RPG gameplay instead of turn-based combat. In fact, the gameplay feels very similar to the popular Zelda series. While it’s not an official Zelda game, The Adventures of Elliot appears to offer a similar experience.
The highly anticipated Switch 2 is launching with Star Fox in June 2026. This new version of Star Fox boasts noticeably enhanced graphics and represents the latest iteration in a series of remakes. Players can enjoy both online and local multiplayer, marking a strong comeback for this beloved franchise.

These June Directs are usually the biggest of the year, and this one is anticipated to be no different. While Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed the event, many believe it will happen around the middle of the month and will likely include the first reveal of the rumored remake of Ocarina of Time. Fans are eager for more details and hoping for an official announcement soon.
