Finding romance in Paralives takes a bit more effort than in The Sims 4. Instead of directly choosing to flirt or date, you have to wait for the right ‘cards’ to appear. While it might seem tricky, using cheats and being proactive in interactions can help you quickly build a relationship with the Para you like.

How To Romance In Paralives

To start a romance with someone in Paralives, you need to talk to them and select the pink conversation options. If you didn’t create the Parafolk you’re interested in, you can find them in town easily. Simply open the Relationships panel on the left side of the screen, click on their icon, and then select ‘Find Parafolk’ to zoom the camera to their location.

Begin by chatting with the person, and keep an eye on the progress bar next to your profile picture. Once it’s full, tap the speech bubble to choose a response card.

Some will be related to your characteristics, while others depend on the current situation.

In Paralives, you can begin flirting with other characters once you’ve built up your relationship with them enough that pink flirting options become available.

Flirting cards aren’t guaranteed to work. Each card will show how likely it is to be successful, and it’s up to you to decide if you want to try. It usually helps to be somewhat familiar with the person before using one, as that increases your chances.

As your relationship develops and you get to know someone, your chances of a successful romance increase. If you and the person you’re interested in already have a strong connection – like being friends or coworkers – your flirting will be even more effective.

You can unlock new kinds of relationships by finding a special Storyteller card that shows up during chats. Both of your characters need to be feeling the same emotion for the card to appear. At the end of each day, the Storyteller’s stories might also give you bonuses for flirting or improving your relationships.

I’ve found that trying to flirt with someone while they’re already in a relationship in this game takes a really long time, and eventually, the flirt options just stop showing up. I had to end all their other relationships before the romantic options reappeared.

To end a relationship between two Parafolks in Paralives, open the Cheat Console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+C and then type the following command:

Okay, so if you’re trying to get serious with someone in the game, you need to wait for that special card – the one that actually asks if you want to be in a relationship! If you’ve been building a good connection (meaning your odds are high), then you and your chosen Para will finally become a couple. It’s super exciting when it happens!

Once your Sims have built a strong relationship, they can become intimate – this is how romance progresses in The Sims 4. You’ll find the option when they’re using a double bed or shower. After being intimate, Sims can talk about their relationship and decide if they want to be exclusive, with their partner’s agreement. If you don’t see the option to become intimate, make sure both Sims are in a group before trying.
