Crazee Dayzee is the first character you meet in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. After you first encounter them, you can find them on many different levels throughout the game. They have several hidden secrets to uncover, and they also interact with other characters you’ll meet along the way.

Crazee Dayzee’s Discoveries often focus on its vibrant colors and how it helps flowers grow. Because you can find Crazee Dayzee in many different areas of the game, some Discoveries require you to explore beyond its starting location. This guide details every Crazee Discovery in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, and explains how to unlock each one.

All Crazee Dayzee Discoveries in the Crazee Dayzee Habitat

It is possible to miss some of them, so if it looks like a Discovery is not working, just restart the level.

You can stop exploring whenever you like by choosing “End Exploration.” Everything you’ve found will be automatically saved, and some of your discoveries will even help you collect Smiley Flowers.

Made a flower arch. Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Go through the stage until you see a grassy arch.
  • Carry a Crazee Dayzee along all the grassy patches to make the arch bloom with flowers.
Causes blooming when tossed. Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Grab a Crazee Dayzee and go to a tree with flowers to bloom.
  • Toss the Crazee Dayzee to bloom the flowers.
Flowers bloom in matching colors. Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Grab a Crazee Dayzee of another color other than Yellow.
  • Make flowers bloom with that color.
Gets muddy easily. Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Grab a Crazee Dayzee, then run all the way to the bottom-right of the stage with a cave.
  • Go to the muddy area and toss the Crazee Dayzee in the mud.

  • Complete the “!” switch challenge by making all the flowers on the big tree bloom.
Sprouts when buried! Crazee Dayzee Habitat Ground Pound a Crazee Dayzee.
Grew a fresh patch of grass! Crazee Dayzee Habitat Ground Pound a Crazee Dayzee in the puddle of water.
Grows to become a big tree! Crazee Dayzee Habitat Ground Pound the “!” Switch to grow the tree for the challenge.
Quick splash, squeaky clean! Crazee Dayzee Habitat Toss a muddy Crazee Dayzee into the water to clean it.
Made the whole area bloom. Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Go to the area right after the big Crazee Dayzee tree, near the puddle.
  • Grab a Crazee Dayzee and make that whole area bloom with flowers.
Many different colors. Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Bring 3 or more different colors of Crazee Dayzee together.
  • Bloom different colored flowers.
All 3 big flowers bloomed! Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Grab a Crazee Dayzee, then run to the very end/top-right of the stage.
  • Flutter Jump to make 3 big flowers bloom.
Bloomed every single bud. Crazee Dayzee Habitat Carry a Crazee Dayzee to bloom all the flowers in the stage.
Dazed when hit with an egg. Crazee Dayzee Habitat Throw an egg at a Crazee Dayzee.
Matched the apple’s color! Crazee Dayzee Habitat Take an apple and set it down next to a Crazee Dayzee so it can eat it and change color.
Makes apples grow. Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Feed a Crazee Dayzee an apple.
  • Carry it to make flowers bloom.
Flower crowns for friends. Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Carry a Crazee Dayzee to make flowers bloom in the grass.
  • Set a Crazee Dayzee down in the patch of flowers. It will make a crown after a few seconds.
  • Crouch to let the Crazee Dayzee put the crown on Yoshi’s head.
A colorful arch! Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Go through the stage until you see a grassy arch.
  • Take 3 different colors of Crazee Dayzee to the grassy areas so that there are at least 3 different colors of flowers blooming on the arch.
Colorful community. Crazee Dayzee Habitat
  • Bring 5 different colors of Crazee Dayzee together.
  • There are multiple yellow ones, a purple one is underground, a blue one is near the puddle, and a white one is on the cliff above the puddle.
  • You can get the fifth one by grabbing an apple from the tree in the air above the flower arch and feeding it to a Crazee Dayzee to change it to red.
    • Make sure you do this on a Yellow one, since there are multiple.

  • Pick up any color Crazee Dayzee.
  • Go to every patch of grass and tree with flowers in the stage that can be bloomed.
    • Make sure it is all the same color as one Crazee Dayzee.

  • Bloom at least 2 different colored flowers on the big tree.
  • Go until you see the “!” Block and the big Crazee Dayzee tree.
  • Grab one Crazee Dayzee and set it down on the ledge around the middle portion of the tree.
  • Go get a different color Crayzee, then ground-pound the “!” block to start the timer.
  • Bloom some of the flowers with that color, then switch to the other color to bloom the rest.
  • As long as there are at least two different colors when the challenge is complete, you’ll get the Discovery.

All Crazee Dayzee Discoveries in Other Habitats

These can only be done outside the initial Crazee Dayzee Habitat due to specific conditions available only on these stages. Trying to complete all the discoveries adds much more time to complete Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

Revived with an apple. Ouchin Habitat Bring an apple to the Gray Crazee Dayzee at the top of the Ouchin stage.
Turns bright red! Bunchabee Habitat Feed a Crazee Dayzee Hot Pepper.
Pulled out with teamwork! Glubbit Habitat
  • Head all the way to the right of the stage, where two Crazee Dayzee are trying to pull up a Heart Turnip.
  • Throw one more Crazee Dayzee in the area, so that there are three, and they will pull up the Heart Turnip.
Bloomed buds with hot peppers! Bunchabee Habitat
  • Feed a Crazee Dayzee Hot Pepper.
  • You can find the Hot Peppers on the stage. After reaching the vines, go left.
  • Run the Crazee Dayzee through patches of grass that have flowers to bloom.
Revived with a hot pepper?! Floofly Habitat
  • Ride the Floofly formation until you reach a wall with 3 stacked boxes.
  • Ground Pound the boxes to get a Hot Pepper. Grab it and hold on to it.
  • Ride the Floofly formation until you reach the Gray Crazee Dayzee, then feed it the Hot Pepper.
Seawater won’t revive them. Ouchin Habitat
  • Grab the Gray Crazee Dayzee near the top of the Ouchin stage, then take it back to the beginning water.
  • Toss the Crazee Dayzee into the water.
Revived with a splash of water! Floofly Habitat
  • Ride the Floofly formation until you see the blue, rainy Floofly.
  • Jump and run over them to add to the formation.
  • Ride the formation until the rain Floofly are over the Gray Crazee Dayzee.
  • Jump on the rain Floofly to revive the Crazee Dayzee
No wilting flowers! Bountiful and blooming Scatterpuff Habitat
  • Grab the Crazee Dayzee in the Scatterpuff stage. Make sure it does not get puff balls on it.
  • Run with it along all the patches of grass and trees that have flowers to bloom.
    • Again, make sure it doesn’t get puffballs on it during this.

While most of the secrets in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book are easy to find, this guide should help you with the more challenging ones.
