The mobile game Pokémon GO has announced its next season, “Forever Forward,” starting June 2nd. Players can look forward to an exciting period, as the game approaches its tenth anniversary and GO Fest 2026 promises the arrival of long-awaited Pokémon.
As a big Pokémon GO player, I’m a little sad to see the Memories in Motion season ending! It’s been great catching new Pokémon like Blipbug, Flittle, Silicobra, Orthworm, and Mimikyu. Plus, it was awesome that this season happened during the 30th anniversary of the whole Pokémon franchise and kicked off the celebrations for Pokémon GO’s 10th anniversary! The season ends on June 2nd at 10:00 AM local time, but the good news is the developers have already told us how long the next season will be.
Pokemon GO‘s Forever Forward Season Confirmed for June 2, 2026
A new trailer revealed that the next season of Pokemon GO, called “Forever Forward”, will run from June 2nd to September 8th, 2026. The trailer features a player encountering Pikachu wearing a visor – an outfit previously available during the Spring Marathon event in May 2026. Confetti and a 10th-anniversary logo suggest the season will include celebrations for the game’s milestone. Notably, “Forever Forward” will take place alongside GO Fest Global 2026, which will introduce Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y to Pokemon GO.

The initial trailer for the new Pokémon season, Forever Forward, was short on details, but the developers are expected to release a longer, more informative trailer soon, possibly hinting at which Pokémon will appear for the first time. Meanwhile, Pokémon GO has already announced its next three Community Days, starting on June 20th, and a separate teaser revealed that a new Ice-type Pokémon will be featured in June’s event. Unlike the previous season, Memories in Motion, Forever Forward won’t include a Community Day Classic event.
The recent event, Memories in Motion, had a nostalgic feel, but the next event, Forever Forward, will look ahead to the future of Pokemon GO. As the game approaches its 10th anniversary on July 6th, players are excited about the possibility of special rewards, such as Pokemon in costumes and temporary bonuses. GO Fest Global 2026 will take place July 11th and 12th, featuring Raids, bonuses, and the introduction of Mega Mewtwo and Zeraora. It will be exciting to see how Pokemon GO celebrates this milestone with Forever Forward.

The annual Pokémon GO Fest event started in Tokyo, Japan, giving players who attended a first look at Mega Mewtwo. The event will continue in Chicago and Copenhagen in June. While everyone waits for those events, Pokémon GO is offering special quests from its Team Leaders – Candela, Blanche, and Spark – from May 26th to June 15th. These quests involve catching Pokémon, hatching Eggs, and winning battles. Players can also earn limited-edition GO Passes that unlock costumed versions of Lapras, Elekid, and Ponyta.
