There are many ways to evolve your Pokémon in Pokémon GO. One method involves using Lure Modules. While Lure Modules usually attract Pokémon to a PokéStop temporarily, some Pokémon will actually evolve if you use candies on them while you’re near an active Lure Module.
There are seven Pokémon that evolve more easily when you use Lure Modules in Pokémon GO, and a couple of others that become easier to evolve as well. This guide provides a complete list of these Lure Module Evolutions and explains how to get more Lure Modules when you’re running out.
All Pokemon GO Lure Evolutions
| Evolution [▲] | Lure Module Required [▲] | Candies Requires |
|---|---|---|
| Sliggoo ⟶ Goodra | Rainy Lure | 100 Goomy Candies |
| Eevee ⟶ Leafeon | Mossy Lure | 25 Eevee Candies |
| Eevee ⟶ Glaceon | Glacial Lure | 25 Eevee Candies |
| Crabrawler ⟶ Crabominable | Glacial Lure | 50 Crabrawler Candies |
| Magneton ⟶ Magnezone | Magnetic Lure | 100 Magnemite Candies |
| Nosepass ⟶ Probopass | Magnetic Lure | 50 Nosepass Candies |
| Charjabug ⟶ Vikavolt | Magnetic Lure | 100 Grubbin Candies |
All Pokemon GO Rainy Lure Evolutions
- Sliggoo ⟶ Goodra
The Rainy Lure Module now offers a new way to evolve Sliggoo into Goodra, a powerful Pokémon. Before, you had to evolve it during rainy weather in the game. Now, you can simply give your Sliggoo 100 Goomy Candies while near an active Rainy Lure Module. Sliggoo itself evolves from Goomy using 25 Goomy Candies. While you can also find Sliggoo in the wild, it’s very rare.
Besides helping Sliggoo evolve, a Rainy Lure can draw in Water, Bug, and Electric-type Pokémon.
All Pokemon GO Mossy Lure Evolutions
- Eevee ⟶ Leafeon
In Pokémon GO, Eevee can evolve in several ways, and two of them need a Lure Module. To get the Grass-type Eeveelution, Leafeon, you need to give Eevee 25 Eevee Candies while you’re near a Mossy Lure Module. This is similar to the older Pokémon games, where Eevee evolved into Leafeon when leveled up near a special Moss Rock.
Okay, so I’ve been using the Mossy Lure Module, and it’s pretty cool! Everyone knows it helps evolve Eevee into Leafeon, but what I’ve noticed is it really brings in a lot more Grass, Bug, and Poison-type Pokémon. If you’re trying to catch those kinds of guys, this is definitely the lure to use!
All Pokemon GO Glacial Lure Evolutions
- Eevee ⟶ Glaceon
As a big Eevee fan, I was so excited to get Glaceon! In the older games, you needed to level up Eevee near a special Ice Rock. But in Pokemon GO, it’s a little different. You just need to collect 25 Eevee Candies and then evolve Eevee while you’re near an active Glacial Lure. It’s a pretty easy way to get your own ice-type Eeveelution!
- Crabrawler ⟶ Crabominable
Crabrawler can evolve by using a Glacial Lure Module and 50 Crabrawler Candies. This evolution method is similar to how it used to evolve on Mount Lanakila in the Alola region in the original Sun & Moon games, but the way it evolves has been updated in later versions, much like Glaceon’s evolution.
Lure Modules designed for Ice-type Pokémon will usually attract both Ice and Water-type Pokémon.
All Pokemon GO Magnetic Lure Evolutions
- Magneton ⟶ Magnezone
Magneton is the first evolution of Magnemite. You can evolve Magnemite into Magneton by using 25 candies, or find Magneton rarely in the wild. To evolve Magneton further into Magnezone, you’ll need a Magnetic Lure and 100 Magnemite Candies.
- Nosepass ⟶ Probopass
Nosepass is a Rock-type Pokémon first introduced in Generation 3. If you use a Magnetic Lure near Nosepass and have 50 Nosepass Candies, it will evolve into Probopass, a Steel and Rock-type Pokémon.
- Charjabug ⟶ Vikavolt
Okay, so I finally got my Charjabug! It’s a Bug and Electric type Pokémon from the seventh generation. It took 25 candies to evolve my Grubbin into this little guy. But here’s the tricky part – to get the final evolution, Vikavolt, I needed a whopping 100 Charjabug candies and I had to have a Magnetic Lure Module running while I evolved it. Plus, Charjabug is pretty rare to find in the wild, so it took a while to collect enough candies!
Besides helping Magneton, Nosepass, and Charjabug evolve, Magnetic Lures can also draw in Electric, Steel, and Rock-type Pokémon.
Special Case: Golden Lure Modules & Gimmighoul
Although not required, the Golden Lure Module can make evolving Pokémon easier. It’s especially useful for quickly evolving Gimmighoul into Gholdengo.
Here’s how:
- Rather than relying on candies, Gimmighoul evolves into Gholdengo with the use of 999 Gimmighoul Coins. These coins are obtained in three different ways: catching Gimmighoul, walking with Gimmighoul as your buddy, or spinning Golden PokeStops.
- Gimmighoul will spawn for half an hour after using the Coin Bag, which is activated by sending a Postcard from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
- After five days of sending Postcards, you can earn a Golden Lure Module, which can then be activated at a PokeStop. This will turn the PokeStop gold for half an hour, spawning more Gimmighoul and dropping several Gimmighoul Coins when spun.
- Golden PokeStops also occur naturally without the use of a Golden Lure Module during some events, where they will also drop Gimmighoul Coins, though they don’t necessarily spawn Gimmighoul in the area.
How to Get Lure Modules in Pokemon GO
You can get Lure Modules, which are needed to evolve certain Pokémon, in a couple of ways. The easiest and most reliable method is to purchase them directly from the in-game shop. Standard Lure Modules cost 100 Poke Coins, but the special ones are a little pricier – each Specialty Lure Module costs 180 Poke Coins.
You don’t have to spend your own Lures to evolve Pokémon! Instead, look for Lures that are already active near you – it’s a great way to save PokeCoins. Check around to see if anyone is using Glacial, Mossy, Rainy, or Magnetic Lures, and try to evolve your Pokémon while one of those is active!
Community Days are great for finding PokeStops with Lures set by other players. For instance, during the recent Grubbin Community Day, many players used Magnetic Lures, making it easy to evolve shiny Charjabugs they had caught.
Some other ways to obtain specialty Lure Modules include:
- Shop bundles: Some limited-time bundles will sometimes contain Lure Modules of different types. You can check limited-time offers from the Pokemon GO Store Page.
- Special Research and Timed Research: Lure Modules can sometimes be among the rewards for completing Special Research quests or Timed Research tasks
- Collection Challenges: these limited-time challenges have Lures as a reward, on occasion
- Leveling Rewards: Some of these Lures are available as rewards for leveling your trainer profile.
You can get the Golden Lure Module by mailing five Postcards to Scarlet & Violet over the course of five different days.
