Currently, if you want to change how your character looks in Paralives after you’ve started playing, you’ll need to use a cheat. The game doesn’t yet allow you to fully edit a character’s face, body, height, personality, or voice while in Live Mode. You can still change clothes and accessories as usual, but for bigger changes, you’ll need to reopen the character creation tool using the game’s cheat console. Luckily, it’s a fast and simple process.

How to Change Your Appearance in Paralives

Okay, so if I want to customize my Parafolk, I first need to go into my household and pick the Sim I want to edit. Then, to get to the cheat console, I just press CTRL + F1 or CTRL + SHIFT + C on my keyboard. That’s where the magic happens!

Once the text box shows up, type the word EDITCHARACTER (exactly as shown) and press Enter. This will immediately reopen the character creation screen with your chosen settings loaded.

You have extensive customization options, allowing you to modify nearly every aspect of their appearance and characteristics. This includes details like their face, hair, makeup, tattoos, body type, height, voice, personality, skills, and even options related to pregnancy.

After finishing your edits, simply confirm the changes and return to gameplay.

Right now, the only way to completely change a Para’s appearance after you’ve started playing is by using cheats. Because ParaLives is still in early development, this could be different when the game is fully released.

How to Change Outfits in Paralives

Although you need to use a cheat code to fully customize a character’s appearance in Paralives, changing their clothes is simple and can be done at any time while you’re playing.

At the start of the game, every character has four basic outfits: casual, formal, workout, and pajamas. As you play, your character will change clothes automatically to match their current activity. They’ll put on pajamas when it’s time to sleep and wear work clothes when they go to their job.

To change your character’s clothes, click on the character you’re controlling. Look just below their name for a white shirt icon – clicking this opens the outfit menu. Choose any saved outfit to instantly update their appearance. The menu pauses the game automatically, making it easy to switch outfits quickly without interrupting gameplay.
