In the 007 First Light game, the “Hammer Time” challenge requires James Bond to battle a series of fighters in the arena, culminating in a showdown with the powerful “The Hammer.” Before facing him, you need to start the “Fight Pit” quest and win a practice match against Omar – you can even throw him over the railing to also complete the “Fall Guy” challenge. This guide provides a complete walkthrough for the “Fight Pit” quest, detailing how to conquer both the “Hammer” and “Fall Guy” challenges in 007 First Light.
How to Enter the Fight Pit in 007 First Light
To begin the Fight Pit quest in 007 First Light during the “The Past Never Dies” chapter, head to the Aleph black market and find the pirate standing near the arena entrance. You’ll find them to the right of the tunnel that leads to the other side of the market.
The pirate will share a story with James about battling someone called the Hammer in the arena to win prize money. This is perfect timing, as James is trying to gather funds to cover the auction costs. To start, just go through the arena entrance located behind the pirate, and climb to the top.
Okay, so when I got up to the spot overlooking the arena, I overheard the Ringmaster and Trainer chatting – they were desperate for someone to fight! After they finished talking, I went over to the Ringmaster, and he told me if James wanted to get in on the action, he needed to talk to the Trainer. From there, it was pretty easy – I just followed the marker on my screen to find him.
How to Complete the Fall Guy Challenge in 007 First Light
Once you’ve spoken with the Trainer, he’ll have James spar with Omar to show what he can do. This fight against Omar is fairly easy – all you need to do is win to enter the Fight Pit.
To finish the “Fall Guy” challenge in 007 First Light, you have to push Omar over the railing. The best way to do this is to use the push move (RB + X or R1 + Square) after successfully countering one of his attacks. Countering him first will position him closer to the edge, making the push effective.
As soon as Omar falls from the railing, James will win the fight, allowing him to compete in the arena battles.
How to Beat “The Hammer” in 007 First Light (Hammer Time Challenge)
Once James enters the arena in 007 First Light, he’ll have to win two preliminary fights before facing “The Hammer.” The first fight is straightforward, but the second will be more challenging – you’ll need to perfectly time your counterattacks against two opponents at once.
Your final opponent is The Hammer, and the battle can be challenging depending on how hard you’ve set the game to be.
Pay close attention to The Hammer’s attack patterns. When you see a red flash indicating his lunge attack, dodge immediately. He usually starts with two attacks you can block (shown in yellow), followed by the unblockable red lunge. Many players try to block the third hit, but dodging is the correct response since the lunge can’t be blocked.
To quickly defeat The Hammer in 007 First Light, the best strategy is to run around the arena and throw bottles at him to briefly stun him, then attack with a combo. Keep repeating this – throwing bottles and attacking – until you’ve used all the bottles in the arena. If he’s still standing after that, try pushing him right before he attacks, then grab him and punch him.
Successfully defeating “The Hammer” will complete the “Hammer Time” challenge in 007 First Light.
Successfully hitting all four enemies in the arena with the throwable bottles will finish the “Bottled It!” challenge in 007 First Light.
After winning all the battles in the arena, you’ll finish the Fight Pit quest and contribute $60,000 to the auction fee fund in 007 First Light.
