Hey everyone, I just noticed something cool on Steam! Valve added a welcome tour for the Steam Machine. Knowing how Valve usually does things, this feels like a big hint that these PCs are finally getting close to being released. I’m guessing we might see them hit shelves sometime in early summer 2026, which is awesome!
Steam Machine Repeats Steam Controller Roadmap with Interactive Welcome Tour Added Before Release
Hardware analyst Bradley Lynch recently discovered that Steam now includes a built-in tutorial for the Steam Machine. This short, interactive guide helps new owners understand what the mini PC can do. Lynch also noticed a similar tutorial appeared for the Steam Controller in April, about a month before Valve announced its price and release date. If this pattern continues, we might see a release date for the Steam Machine by the end of June, with a potential launch in early July 2026.
A recent leak offers a glimpse of a new welcome tour for Steam. While details are limited, it shows the guide includes instructions for using the Steam Machine’s microSD card slot – how to insert, remove, and format cards. According to a screenshot shared online, Valve seems to have created two versions of the tour: one for new users and another for those who’ve already seen it. This suggests users might be able to restart the tutorial even after they’ve finished it.
