He additionally addressed the topic of competition between Grok AI, Chatbot created by Musk’s xAI, and ChatGPT, OpenAI’s primary offering.

Musk remarked that artificial intelligence (AI) is advancing faster than any other technology he’s encountered in his lifetime when asked to assess humanity’s current position in AI development. He added a cautionary note, explaining that this topic demands an extensive response.
Approximately every six to nine months, we see significant AI advancements with new hardware being released, Musk noted. He anticipates that AI will surpass human intelligence around the end of next year.
Grok 2.0 to surpass ChatGPT-4, Musk believes
Elon Musk discussed his Grok AI chatbot during the conversation, sharing that an upgraded version, Grok 2.0, is currently being trained. By May, according to Musk’s estimation, this enhanced Grok model is expected to surpass ChatGPT-4 from OpenAI in performance.
During the weekend, it was reported that utilizing Grok within the X app, which doesn’t cost anything extra, is currently 60% less expensive than a monthly ChatGPT-4 subscription. While an X Premium membership sets you back $8 each month, the cost for ChatGPT-4 now stands at $20 per month.
In a recent talk, Elon Musk expressed his belief that artificial intelligence could surpass human intelligence by the end of next year. He added that Grok V2 is undergoing training now and is anticipated to be finished in May, suggesting that it will outperform GPT-4.
