All Flower Locations in Chapter 2 of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book

Chapter 2, “Mountaintops of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book,” introduces new creatures and things to find. It’s a bit more complex than the first chapter, and you’ll be collecting lots of Smiley Flowers – we’ve made a list of them for you below.

Each level in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is named after a creature you’ve found, and since you can name these creatures yourself, the names will vary from player to player. For this guide, we’ll be using the names given by Mr. E. Finding all the Smiley Flowers in this chapter is harder than before, so you’ll need to be extra careful.

Taggit (Running Carrier) Level

3 Smiley Flowers

This level has 3 Smiley Flowers hidden within it. You can collect them using Taggit’s grabbing power.

Taggit Smiley Flower Locations How to Get There
In a basket above the waterfall Go through the stage until you see the waterfall, then jump on the platform and up to the right. Grab a Taggit, then jump and throw it at the basket with the Smiley Flower. The Taggit will grab the Smiley Flower and bring it down.
Beneath a Croakaoke Keep going until you can drop underground. Bring two Taggits and go right once you are underground until you see a turnip in the ceiling. Throw two Taggits at the turnip to pull it out. Take the Heart Turnip and feed it to the Croakaoke to make it move. Climb down the rope to get the Flower in the cave below.
On a tree branch near balloons Get eggs and go all the way to the right, through the stage, until you reach the balloons. Ride the far-right balloon until you see leaves. Use the eggs to break the balloon near the leaves to reveal the Smiley Flower.

Milde (Bubblegum) Level

3 Smiley Flowers

This stage has 3 Smiley Flowers hidden within it. You’ll need to do a lot of jumping and use the Ground Pound ability to find them all.

Milde Smiley Flower Locations How to Get There
Underground near a pool Go right until you see the first small pink pool, and break the boxes to reach underground. Follow the path until you see a Croakaoke. Ground Pound a Milde on the left side of the Croakaoke to push it right. Take a Milde and jump on the Croakaoke to reach the top-right with a pool and dry Smiley Flower. Ground Pound the Milde in the water to hydrate the Smiley Flower, then collect it.
Above a tree Go forward until you meet the giant Milde in the volcano. Jump to the top of the volcano, then head left. Jump on the pink platform, then jump on each Milde to reach the top with the Smiley Flower.
On a ledge in the volcano Go back underground to the volcano and the giant Milde location. Break the boxes to the right and bring a Milde to the black pool. Ground Pound the Milde in the pool to make it safe and spawn more Milde. Jump on the Milde until you can reach the top-right ledge with the Smiley Flower.

Peckadee (Arrow Bird) Level

4 Smiley Flowers

This level has 4 Smiley Flowers hidden within it. You’ll need to get creative with the Peckadee to reach them all.

Peckadee Smiley Flower Locations How to Get There
In a tough nut Take Peckadee to the right until you see a brown nut on the ground. Throw Peckadee at the nut to crack it, then Ground Pound to get the Smiley Flower.
Outside, above a leaf platform Go to the middle of the stage with the platforms, then jump up and to the left near the first target. Once outside, throw something straight up to the area you can’t see to knock down a Spicy Pepper. Feed it to a Peckadee to turn it red, then take it up the platform until you reach the wheel. Go to the top-left of the wheel until you reach the outside with a stone blocking the way. Throw the red Peckadee at the stone to break it, then jump up to reach the Smiley Flower.
Stuck in a tree Get eggs, then go to the top and to the right until you see a Smiley Flower stuck. Keep going right until you can drop down, then immediately Flutter Jump left to reach the platform. Aim the egg at the hole to hit and collect the Smiley Flower.
Near two wheels in a tree Take a Peckadee back outside to the second Smiley Flower’s location. Throw it at the tree to reach the area above with two wheels and a Peckadee inside one. Take the Peckadee, or just stop it, to stop the wheel. Throw Peckadee at the higher wheel, then jump on it to reach the Smiley Flower in the top-left area.

Floofly (Cloud) Level

5 Smiley Flowers

This level has 5 Smiley Flowers hidden in hard-to-reach places. You’ll need to use the Floofly formation to get to them all.

Floofly Smiley Flower Locations How to Get There
Near a windmill Ride the Floofly formation until you reach a windmill. Jump to the top of the windmill to reach the Floofly above, then grab the Smiley Flower to the right.
Underground platform Ride the Floofly formation until you reach a platform right after the windmill. Run over the 3 Floofly to make them move. Drop down, then duck under the spot to the right.
Cave in the sky Make sure there are enough Floofly in formation to make it look like a boat. Ride the Floofly until you reach a cave area that goes above you. Climb the Floofly to reach the Smiley Flower.
On a platform near the end Make sure you have blue, rain cloud Floofly in formation. Ride the Floofly until you see a dry Smiley Flower on a platform. Run over the Floofly when above the Smiley Flower to revive it.
High in the sky Ride the Floofly formation until you see a separate fish-shaped Floofly formation near the end of the level. Jump on the new formation, then Flutter Jump to the right until you reach the Smiley Flower.

Plumebrella (Umbrella Bird) Level

4 Smiley Flowers

This level has 4 Smiley Flowers hidden within it. You’ll need to use Plumebrella to reach them, so make sure you hold on tight!

Plumebrella Smiley Flower Locations How to Get There
Hidden near a cave wall Get an egg, then go right until you reach the wall. Throw the egg straight up to reveal the “?” cloud, then hit the cloud to get the Smiley Flower.
In the air near the start Grab a Plumebrella, then head back to the start of the stage. Use the Plumebrella in the air to the left to reach the Smiley Flower.
In a hidden cave with a golden Plumebrella Go through the stage until you reach a windmill. Drop down, then head left. Grab the Plumebrella. Use the Plumebrella to reach the area right above it and enter a hidden cave. Pick up the Plumebrella inside, then jump up, jump off of it, then Flutter Jump to the left to reach the Smiley Flower. This one might take a few attempts to get the space and timing just right.
Hidden behind a rain Floofly Grab the Golden Plumbrella. Make sure it is the big one, not the small one. Ride the air current in the top-right portion of the map until you see a bunch of Floofly. Go to the top-right with the golden Plumebrella to scare the rain Floofly and reveal the Smiley Flower.

Thudd (Green Giant) Level

7 Smiley Flowers

This level has 7 Smiley Flowers hidden within it. You can find them by practicing and experimenting with Thudd’s breathing techniques.

Thudd Smiley Flower Locations How to Get There
Spit from Thudd Even though this is listed as the 3rd Smiley Flower in the game, you can easily get it first. Ground Pound on Thudd’s belly button to have it spit up the Smiley Flower.
High above the cave Maneuver Thudd until you can aim at the highest, top-left portion in the starting area. Shoot Yoshi, then Flutter Jump to reach the area with the Smiley Flower.
Hidden in rocks in a cave There are two ways to get this one: Have Thudd spit you out to the top-left blocks when it is walking around. Have Thudd spit you out in the middle area until you land on a swinging vine, then use the momentum to break the rocks.
Dried up near Thudd’s starting location Have Thudd breathe in water with Yoshi. Do not spit it out yet! If you use up the pool to the left, progress through the stage until you find more water. Aim at the dry Smiley Flower on the ground near Thudd’s starting location to revive the Smiley Flower.
Inside the nuts Take Thudd past the wall of rocks in the cave, then aim to break the ceiling rocks. Multiple brown nuts will fall down. Break them all to reveal the Smiley Flower.
In an underground pond Have Thud breathe in the pond to the right of the cave. In the newly dry area, go right, and you’ll see more water with a Smiley Flower. Have Thudd breathe in this water to reach the area.
Ledge at the end of the stage Take Thudd all the way to the right of the stage, where you’ll find beehives. Spit Yoshi to the top-right to reach the upper ledge. You may need to breathe in the Croakaoke to get Thudd all the way to the right.
