In Crimson Desert, completing outlaw bounties is a simple and reliable way to earn silver and increase your Contribution points when youβre starting out. After you reach Chapter 2, youβll find bounty posters all over Hernand, each one leading you to a wanted criminal in the area.
In Crimson Desert, completing bounties in Hernand is a great way to earn rewards early in the game. Hereβs how it works: first, collect a bounty poster to learn who youβre looking for. Then, find and subdue the target, and finally, bring them back to the jail in North Hernand. This guide explains the bounty system and where to find all available bounties in Hernand.
Every Hernand Bounty and Where to Find Them
Okay, so once I hit Chapter 2, I started noticing posters popping up all over Hernand city and the surrounding areas. They’re actually pretty easy to find because the game marks them on my minimap with a purple scroll icon β once you know what to look for, they stand out. Each poster gives me important info about who I’m hunting β their name, where they hang out, and sometimes even when I can find them. It’s super helpful for tracking down my targets!
Hernand has a total of nine bounties, and while they arenβt too difficult, each one has a unique challenge that can catch you off guard. Hereβs a quick guide to all the bounties in Hernand and where to locate them.
Jeffrey
Payout: 1 Silver, Mask
Jeffrey is designed to help you get started and serves as a helpful introduction to the game. You can easily find him wandering near Hillside Manor during the day. Completing his task will give you a Mask, which allows you to start stealing if you haven’t already obtained one.
Billy
Payout: 2 Silver
Billy has a specific routine. Heβs usually seen around Rhettβs shop in the evenings while heβs pickpocketing. If you go looking for him too soon, you might have to wait for him to show up.
Bianca
Payout: βββββββ5 Silver
You can find Bianca hidden in a locked-off area of the Church of Hernand. To get to her, enter the church, turn right, and go down the stairs. She usually shows up in the late afternoon, so it’s best to check around that time.
Blix
Payout: βββββββ15 Silver
Blix is a bit more challenging to approach. He’s positioned below a crack near Unicorn Cliff and is guarded by several enemies. Instead of jumping down into the fray, it’s best to use a bow or other ranged weapon to draw the enemies away individually before taking on Blix.
Alessio
Payout: βββββββ20 Silver
You’ll find Alessio close to Trembling Gorge, with some companions near a damaged wagon. After dealing with his group, pursue and capture Alessio himself.
Warren
Payout: βββββββ25 Silver
You’ll find Warren south of Pororin, but you can’t get to him until you’ve unlocked Florindale, so it’s best to visit him later in the game.
Salvatore
Payout: βββββββ12 Silver
Okay, so I’ve been trying to find Salvatore, and he hangs out by a bridge in Sunset Valley. Honestly, getting to him is way harder than actually fighting him! The path is packed with enemies, and they’re a real pain because they can mess up your ride later on if you’re not careful.
Simon De Montfort
Payout: βββββββ8 Silver
Simon De Montfort can be tricky to find. He’s quite a distance southwest of Hernand, close to a beehive. The easiest way to reach him is to come from the highlands and navigate the rocky landscape, particularly if you haven’t discovered the other routes yet.
Haldin
Payout: 30 Silver
Haldin is a particularly interesting bounty target. You’ll find him disguised as a soldier at Vilkom Outpost, but he won’t be available until you’ve cleared the outpost of enemies. His bounty poster doesn’t appear until after the others, making him the last one to hunt down in the area.
If you finish all nine bounties and capture each target without killing them, you’ll earn 118 silver, plus a mask from Jeffrey’s questline. This is a great way to get some extra money early in the game, especially if you’re trying to save for something important.
How to Capture Bounty Targets in Crimson Desert
Successfully capturing a bounty requires careful planning. When you arrive at the target’s location, they’ll typically be either by themselves or with allies. If they have backup, itβs best to eliminate those enemies first. Rushing in without doing so usually creates a messy fight, and you risk killing the bounty before you can capture them.
Once the area is safe and you’re no longer fighting, run up to the outlaw and tackle them. After tackling them, hit them a few times until the game prompts you to restrain them. Then, you can tie them up and get ready to move them.
Once you have the captured person secured, lead them to your horse, get them on board, and start heading back to the jail in northern Hernand.
How to Transport Prisoners Without Losing Rewards
If a prisoner dies while you’re transporting them, your reward will be cut in half, and you won’t earn Contribution points. To avoid this, plan your route carefully beforehand. Steer clear of areas with many enemies, because even a brief fight in the Crimson Desert can unseat you. If you fall off your horse, both you and the prisoner could fall, potentially leading to a dangerous situation.
When the terrain gets rough or bumpy, it’s usually best to get off your mount and carry the prisoner by hand until you find a smoother route. Water can also be very dangerous β accidentally dropping a prisoner into a river or lake could be fatal and cost you money.
It’s crucial to avoid saving or reloading while moving. This can cause you to lose your progress and have to start tracking the target again.
What Happens If A Bounty Target Dies?
Sometimes, bounties go wrong and the target dies β whether in a fight, from an accident, or due to the environment. Don’t worry, you can still finish the bounty, but you’ll receive a smaller reward.
If you bring in a defeated enemy instead of a live one, you’ll have to physically carry their body back to the jail, as if they were a living prisoner. While you’ll still get a reward, it will be smaller, and you wonβt receive the usual bonus for capturing someone alive, making it a less beneficial option overall.
