Watching Chainsaw Man, I was really caught up in the way the movie played with tension and emotion. There’s a strange, unsettling scene where Reze gets close to Denji and tells him this little story about country and city mice, and it just feels…off. It really highlights a key idea: the greater the risk, the greater the potential payoff, which applies to both Denji’s situation and what we, as the audience, are experiencing. What’s great about the movie is how it balances these quiet, almost romantic moments with absolutely incredible action. It feels complete, and the ending – well, only someone as subtly manipulative as Makima could pull something like that off. It genuinely surprised me.
