Ben 10: Ben’s 10 Fastest Forms, Ranked

Benjamin Tennyson, better known as Ben, is a hugely popular hero from Cartoon Network, and it’s easy to see why. He can transform into a vast array of alien forms, each with unique abilities. While many of Ben’s aliens are known for their speed, some are demonstrably faster than others, depending on their individual weaknesses.

It’s tricky to compare how fast Ben’s different alien forms are, considering how many he has. However, fans still love to debate their speeds, and some of his most popular transformations can actually move faster than sound. But speed isn’t even the most amazing thing Ben can do when he transforms.

10. Clockwork Can Use His Time Warping Abilities to Move Shockingly Quick

First Appeared in Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Season 3, Episode 24, “Inspector 13”

Clockwork might not be the first alien people think of when considering Ben’s speedsters, but his powers actually allow for incredibly fast movement – in a unique way. By stopping time, he becomes, technically, the fastest being in the universe, even if it’s just for a moment. However, outside of those instances, Clockwork is usually quite slow.

Although Clockwork is physically large and awkward, making direct combat difficult, he can win most fights if he acts quickly and surprises his opponents. Clockwork is easily one of Ben’s strongest transformations, but writers often avoid using him because he’s so powerful it could easily make other battles less interesting.

9. One Step For Way Big Is at Least Several Miles Long

First Appeared in Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix

Speed in physics is calculated by dividing the total distance traveled by the time it took to cover that distance. Considering this, Waybig’s average speed is probably extremely fast. At over 295 feet tall, Waybig has an enormous stride. He likely doesn’t even need to run very hard to be faster than many of Ben’s less powerful foes.

Because Ben’s alien transformations grow with him, Way Big could become even more powerful. Any increase in Way Big’s size will likely also make him faster. While Way Big might not be the first alien people think of when considering Ben’s speedy forms, the laws of physics suggest he has a lot of potential in that area.

8. Atomix Can Move Shockingly Quickly During Battle, But His True Power Is Rarely Used

First Appeared in Ben 10: Omniverse, Season 4, Episode 10, “For a Few Beings More”

Atomix is a recent addition to Ben’s alien arsenal and quickly proves to be one of his strongest. He was unexpectedly activated due to a malfunctioning device from Azmuth and single-handedly defeated all of Albedo’s Ultimatrix aliens. During the battle, Atomix showed incredible strength and speed, immediately ranking him among Ben’s most powerful forms. He’s so powerful, in fact, that a future version of Ben relies on a combination of Atomix and Alien X as his go-to transformations.

This new alien form is incredibly powerful, potentially one of Ben’s strongest transformations yet. It’s capable of incredibly fast attacks and could even move at the speed of light. Unfortunately, it hasn’t had much opportunity to truly showcase its amazing abilities and strength.

7. Cannonbolt Can Travel Surprisingly Quickly In His Ball Form

First Appeared in Ben 10, Season 2, Episode 2, “The Big Kick”

Honestly, when Ben turns into Cannonbolt and just walks around, it’s kinda slow. Luckily, being an Arburian Pelarota, he has a much better way to move! He can curl up into a ball, just like an armadillo, and then he’s seriously fast – faster than most cars, even. If he gets a good roll going, there’s almost no stopping him!

Ultimate Cannonbolt doesn’t gain any extra speed compared to the original, but he can handle much rougher environments. However, difficult terrain is still his biggest problem. While he’s capable of reaching high speeds, he needs a running start – otherwise, he won’t go very far.

6. Heatblast Can Propel Himself Through the Air Using Powerful Flames

First Appeared in Ben 10, Season 1, Episode 1, “And Then There Were 10”

Heatblast is an alien made of fire with the power of flight and amazing speed. He can move quickly by controlling flames to push himself or even blast the ground. Because Heatblast was the very first alien Ben transformed into, Ben is very comfortable using him, which probably explains why Ben can move so fast in this form.

Heatblast is famous for controlling fire, but he’s also surprisingly fast – capable of moving like a rocket when the situation allows. In fact, Ben can even move fast enough as Heatblast to write his name in the sky, meaning he’s ripping through the air at incredible speeds. Unfortunately, his flames often hold him back from reaching his full potential in this form.

5. Buzzshock Can Travel Along Wires in the Form of Electricity

First Appeared in Ben 10, Season 3, Episode 27, “Ben 10,000”

I’m a huge Ben 10 fan, and it’s always been interesting to me that Buzzshock first showed up way back with Ben 10,000! It took a while for regular Ben to get access to this alien – he didn’t use it until Omniverse. But even before that, everyone knew Buzzshock was fast! You actually see a glimpse of him in the intro to Ultimate Alien, which was a tease, since he wasn’t in the show itself. What’s really cool about Buzzshock is his control over electricity – he can mess with any tech and even become pure energy!

When transformed into pure energy, Buzzshock can move incredibly fast through electrical systems like wires and phone lines. While still visible, he’s nearly impossible to catch. Unfortunately, Ben doesn’t often get to showcase Buzzshock’s abilities, usually preferring to use other electric aliens such as Shocksquatch or Brainstorm instead.

4. Astrodactyl Has a Cutting-Edge Jetpack Which Allows Him to Maneuver Through the Air

First Appeared in Ben 10: Omniverse Season 3, Episode 8, “While You Were Away”

Astrodactyl is incredibly fast, thanks to both his wings and a powerful jetpack. However, he doesn’t appear often in the series, making it hard to directly compare him to other aliens. Despite this, Astrodactyl is almost impossible to beat when it comes to aerial speed and maneuverability.

We don’t know where Astrodactyl aliens come from or what their home planet is – that’s typical for many species in the Omniverse. Despite this mystery, Astrodactyl has quickly become a popular character with fans. Interestingly, early designs showed a potential future Ben 10 combining Astrodactyl with Gravattack, but this idea was never used in the show.

3. Fasttrack Was Created Because It Is Decidedly Easier to Animate

First Appeared in Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Season 3, Episode 29, “Basic Training”

Fasttrack is one of Ben’s fastest aliens, though he doesn’t get used very often. He was actually created because he’s simpler to animate than XLR8. While Fasttrack doesn’t have a long list of accomplishments, the ones he does have are incredibly powerful. For example, Ben once defeated several super-powered members of the Esoterica by moving so quickly they couldn’t even react, despite their ability to teleport.

Fasttrack is incredibly fast, reaching speeds of Mach 4, though he can’t maintain that speed for long. He proved his speed by even escaping missiles in the Ultimate Alien series. Despite this, Ben Tennyson doesn’t use Fasttrack much in later seasons, preferring aliens like XLR8 and newer additions to his team. This has left many fans questioning what role Fasttrack plays, as he’s become one of Ben’s least-used transformations.

2. XLR8 Is Ben’s Original Fastest Alien

First Appeared in Ben 10 Season 1, Episode 10, “And Then There Were 10”

XLR8 is one of Ben’s original and fastest alien forms. He’s incredibly fast – so much so that things seem to freeze around him. On land, no other alien Ben transforms into can outrun him. He’s not just quick on foot; XLR8 can even run across water and scale walls with ease.

XLR8 is arguably the most recognizable of Ben’s speedster forms. Ben frequently transforms into XLR8, both to fight villains and for humorous moments. While each version of the show updates XLR8’s appearance, the original design is still the most popular.

1. Jetray Can Technically Travel Faster Than Lightspeed While Moving Through Space

First Appeared in Ben 10: Alien Force, Season 1, Episode 3, “Everybody Talks About the Weather”

Jetray is Ben’s quickest alien, known for his amazing flight speed. He can even travel between planets, suggesting he’s faster than the speed of light – something none of Ben’s other aliens can do. Although many believe XLR8 is faster, Jetray would actually win in a race every time.

The Aerophibian, or Jetray, is unique among Ben’s alien forms because it never received a more powerful ‘ultimate’ version – and that makes sense, as it was already incredibly fast. While Ben as Jetray might not beat the Flash in a race, he could easily outpace even Superman and other super-speedsters.
